Horrendous dog fouling

We are sick and tired of the person who persistently lets their large dog make such a huge pile of mess on the footpath outside our house. Not just that but they seem to make sure the mess is dragged along as much as the path as possible making it almost impossible to avoid. It's absolutely despicable and we just want to move to a more private area. I am in constant contact with the council (the dog fouling warden happens to live in the village) and I have sent him many photos logging each incident. He seems very keen to stop it but then again nothing ever seems to be done. I don't think I should have to invest in CCTV just to catch the evil sod who is doing this but as the council don't seem bothered I will probably have to. And then what if I catch them on camera ? They will know where I live and could cause damage to my house or car. You can't win.

I feel for you. Kind of the same here, only my issue is not outside my home it is on the school run. Most of the way there is turd often trodden in and moved along further
I don't know what kind of dog it is but it must be huge or have some kind of problem.
I have to make the choice, do I walk on the outside of ds meaning he treads in turd or on the inside of him meaning he gets run over by the cars mounting the pavement to park
Interesting you mention about a dog warden I was thinking of complaining myself but didn't think there would be any point as they would need to catch them in the act.0 -
We had the same problem so here's what I did/do.
Firstly dilute some Jayes fluid in a spray bottle and spray the pavement along your boundry. (I know it sounds daft.) Make sure you really wet it well. This will clear the doggy smells, stopping said doggy wanting to stop and do his/her poops. Its the smell that makes them stop in same place so getting rid of that stops the cycle. Do this every week for a few months until doggy goes somewhere else.
Secondly if you are brave (Iwas) Put a shovel by your door and keep watch. When you see doggy and owner watch for the poop, nip out and ask if they are going to clean up their dogs mess? If no answer or no clean up, let them see you get your shovel scoop up the poop and follow them. Once they reach home jsut place poop on their doorstep. Repeat until they get the idea.
I am a dog owner and I clean up after my dog, so should everyone else. I have been known to knock on doors asking for a bucket of water to swill away when needed as well. xx
Good luck xxxRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxxHe is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.0 -
Thanks. I was thinking of Jeys fluid as I have some so I will try that. I just shovel it into the road and let the rain wash it away but still not ideal.0

I don't want to use my spray gun as it's for my plants but will dilute some in watering can. I did do that a while ago though and the mess was there soon after.0

I blame the owners....those who are nothing but turds.
One day.....it will be regarded as :Tantisocial to be a bad dog owner as it is to be a drink driver:A Goddess :A0 -
Or spitting and littering0

There's a woman by me who does this (Well, lets her dog do it).
Whenever she does the school run, she drags (yes, drags. She hasn't bothered investing time in training it on the lead) the dog there and back. The school run is about half a mile, and it's dotted with her dog's shoite. You can tell it's her dog's as the dog isn't looked after too well, and the poop shows this (just flat pancakes, sometimes almost a puddle) and because of the consistency it's often squirted a fair distance, and then has paw prints in it where she's dragged the dog through it.
I've even seen her stop to let the dog poop in the middle of the road!!!
My dog generally poops in the back garden, but I bring some plastic bags and a poop scoop etc whenever I walk him.
I don't understand why you'd leave your dog cack there for everyone else on the school run to traipse through.
I tell you, if only her dog shat solid, I'd poop scoop it and pop it through her letterbox!0
