    Hi P*M

Glad you're safe and well (and well done on being a whole stone lighter)! I'm about to return to a yeast free diet (which is also largely sugar-free) so hopefully I'll be joining you on the lighter side of life before Christmas!

Also glad you've got a job ... excellent result and three days a week sounds perfect to allow you to get on with your other projects! Any progress there? Totally understandable if there isn't, you've been a tad busy after all :p
Hellooo! How's the yeast-free diet going? I went yeast-free a few years ago and found it immensely helpful. :)

There has been fantastic progress on the Other Project front! Part time job is rather quiet which means (well, in theory - as things have been mad lately, but once they settle down) I should have lots of extra energy for doing more in the evenings (and also have lots of spare moments to think/ponder/plan during quiet times in job ;)). So far I've cracked on with one of my writing projects, hoping to complete a first draft by the end of October *\o/* <-- cheerleader of Yayness! With any luck another project will be done by the end of the year.

I've rejigged my plans a little re: self-employed work - I'd hoped to do some other (more immediate money) projects by Christmas but I'm starting to truly realise how much I keep taking on so I'm trying to force myself into focussing on One Thing At A Time so I'll actually complete the things I want to and go from there. So I'm putting some things on the backburner until the New Year at which point I'll start truly kicking everything else into action (but still in a more streamlined way).

I've started to do some preliminary work and gone back to scratch with some business stuff, ready to renew everything next year. I definitely feel like I've got a much clearer idea of where I want things to go in future and that's a lovely feeling - though I do have to be strict with myself re: too many projects.... if I start talking about doing this, that and the next thing then tell me off!!
Anyhoo, pleased the nightmare of getting the flat sorted is just about over, although fingers crossed for the boiler ... would it be pertinent to ask the managing co for it to be serviced before the autumn chills really set in?
Oh my goodness, good thinking! It's been working ok of late but only because we haven't put it on the timer, think I'll do that next week when I'm here and see what occurs so I can get it sorted if it's still playing up.
Very pleased you had a great time at the concert and excellent news on your upcoming trip. To be honest, with friends, sometimes it happens like that ... you end up in an "it was nice knowing you" situation. And sometimes, it takes major change of the domestic life, health or work kind to make you realise who your friends are. It's sad, but at least you have plenty of other friends and social opportunities with work etc, so it's all good from here ((hug for if you're feeling a bit sad about it though)).

OK, catch up again soon. Keep well x
Thank you for the hug, I needed it! You're right, I've definitely realised who my friends are of late (and I do feel more inspired to simplify things in my life so I have more time/energy to give back to them - I've missed being able to keep up with people properly over the past few years). And once again you've hit the nail on the head - many more fish in the sea! There are some lovely looking social groups happening locally so I must get myself myself in gear and join in at some point! I've been useless at that over the past few years as well and miss having a local network, time to rebuild one methinks. :D

Really haven't got much of that big list up there done, oops. Anyhoo, a new week ahead. :D

Mr M got in the Aldee shopping today, and I've done some meal planning so we're looking forward to some cheap meals henceforth. I've been doing quite well and keeping the food cupboards turning over which is making a difference with monies spent. (Must say - made this Italian Bean Casserole *clickclick* the other day, so flipping lovely and lots more went into the freezer for me to munch another day, hooray! I was cheap and didn't include wine but it tasted fine... and ooh, that rhymes.)

I'm pleased to report I've done well with my packed lunches at work. I got a bit bored of making sandwiches so have switched to crackers and cheese/hummus - having a fridge there helps. I'm starting to load it up with healthy snacks which helps keep the old diet going (no one else there seems inclined to help themselves to my celery I have to say, whew :rotfl:)

Ooh, I feel all go-getterish now I'm getting back into this MSE malarky. Next stop - sorting out my accounts so I can make my monies work for moi!

Haven't done this in a while...

:www: MFW Wonderment: £4.66 into the kittybank, and all general good work at work.

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: liquorice tea! Watching red kites swirling around (will never get tired of this), organising my Life Folder and realising I've ticked off another Bucket List item (visiting Jane Austen's house :smileyhea)

:heartsmil Burrow Building: the house is starting to come together and I'm making my way through the layers of Stuff that I'm now realising there's just no reason to keep any more - so more trips to the charity shop planned.

Woo, a two day streak! :p

Work was a little tetchy today, I'm trying not to step on anyone's toes but I'm used to running the show/doing things a little differently so as I'm not one to sit around and do nothing it looks like I may have ruffled some feathers, ah well - daresay it'll all iron itself out eventually!

I had a realisation the other day that actually, I'd be completely ok with just walking away from the job if needs be - such a strange (and strangely nice) position to be in. Obviously I'd rather have the extra monies coming in but we'd survive and no doubt I'd pick up something else fairly quickly given I'd be looking for something rather basic (and have a pretty transferable skillset). -- Oh, hope that doesn't sound too flippant - it's not to say that these things aren't often hard and take time (I've absolutely been there, done that), just that I now know that I can live on next to nothing and it feels good that I can start making decisions out of respect for my own health/sanity for once. I suppose what I'm really saying is that I don't have The Fear that I'd never be able to find anything else. What a different and liberating way to live.

A completely spendy day though, I met Mr M after work and had a wander round the shops. I desperately needed a cardigan for work (goodbye £14.99!) and then found a little teal/petrol blue (Mr M & I are disagreeing over the shade as google is telling us different things) fitted tshirt which will go with a lot of skirts I have and will replace some of my super-worn tops (£3.99, not bad), then shower gel & cleanser (Lush loveliness, a little daily treat pour moi :p) which had finally run out (made those last ones laaaaast though!), so all in all annoying to part with cash but kept it to Dear Heavens I Probably Need These Things items, so I can live with it. :p

:www: MFW Wonderment: worked, and doing so again tomorrow.

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: beautiful autumnal walk this morning, leaves drifting down continuously from the trees, bliss.

:heartsmil Burrow Building: nice wander out and about in the evening for once (lately there's been a lot of collapsing on the sofa after work, ha).

Crikey, Mr M is advanced. Mr GG would call that blue. Possibly bright blue at a push :rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
