So glad all's well P*M ... sounds fantastic, and an Ald* to boot (they're still building the one coming near us ... which is still about 4 miles away but it will be on Mr Hbbb's way home from work)!
I was looking at a supplement article about Kate Bush's look over the years and thinking about the gig ... not long to go now! Bet you're a tad excited!
Hope you enjoy the south coast ... It's been pouring here since the weekend, but I spy a bit of blue sky today! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

We have a choice of Ald* or Tesc* & ald* wins hands down every time! Cannot fault their deli section! Anyone else is so
Overpriced! Lid* is great for fruit and veg, much nicer and fresher, also live their fresh bakery but it's a bit to far of a drive away to be economical!BoDiddly

Hello! Well that was a very unintentional stint of awolness!
Newgirly, I'd seen your message about Ald!, was about to reply when I got a phonecall offering me an interview for the very next day - cue much rushing about the house to get interview appropriate clothes found/ready and then a few weeks of madness piled on top. Long story short, I was offered the job (apparently they'd not bothered interviewing anyone else, the boss guy just decided to give it to me on the strength of my CV :j).
Am so relieved to have found something so quickly, again it's only three days a week (though I've been working extra days and at weird times this month - October should be more normal!), but it's a nice chunk of money with all sorts of bonuses and commissions on top, so here's hoping I make lots of extra pennies! This is the first time I've ever worked for a big company (usually I've done small business/independents), and it's a nice experience to only have a small number of tasks that need completed rather than Extreme Madness At All Times. This is maybe the first time ever that I've managed to come home at the end of the day and then not think about work (much - I can't help it) until the next time I go in. I thought I'd be bored out of my mind not having much to do but it strangely seems to be working out ok - maybe I just needed a rest after all the moving and general life chaos. :rotfl:
I feel like I've got a lot of extra energy outside of work now, which should make a marked difference in the future - although the last few weeks I've had a few of my old health things come up hence the quietness, but it feels like it's a last gasp from them and things are improving all the time.I've managed to go sugar free for almost 8 weeks now! (That's probably contributed to lethargy - it's taken a while for my body to recalibrate). Anyway, I've lost a stone! Omg! Have a few more to lose
but I'm well on the way to feeling much more like my normal self. It's only now that I can really look back at the last few years and think - what the heck was going on?! It was not healthy at all. Next step is to kick into action exercise wise (lost a stone only cutting out sugar and doing some walking to and from work, imagine what it'll be like when I get the Davina DVDs out!).
I think I need to update on some of the other shenanigans of the last while....
I don't think I ever detailed the The Move? To cut a very long story short, our neighbour died the day before we moved (so devastating), and when we got down here it turned out that whoever was managing the property hadn't done some of the jobs they were supposed to do, and then on closer inspection they hadn't been looking after it at all well. We thought we would have to pull out, or find somewhere else to go until things were fixed but thankfully everything (almost!) has been sorted. All the white goods needed replaced (which included three deliveries and redeliveries as the wrong replacements were sent), taps needed fixed, bath & shower needed resealed, we thought there was a problem with the water as the flat had been empty for six months and no one had thought to turn the taps on every once in a while. There was also a problem with the drains, and pretty much everything hadn't been cleaned or hoovered. So all of that was a lot of fun.
It's a beautiful flat though, and thank heavens things seem to be running ok. The boiler has been switching off and on a bit when it goes on the timer (oh dear), so it might not be the end of the story there, and we had problems when we installed the internet which also decided to be temperamental but TOUCH WOOD that's it for now!
I've had a little bit of background nonsense going on with a friend (or who I thought was a close friend!) as well, which has been quite draining. I feel quite sad about the downgrading of the relationship I thought we had but I think "sometimes you have to let go not because you don't care, but because they don't care" probably covers the situation quite well. The only positive I can take out of it, in a manner of speaking, is that thank heavens I've changed my life so drastically and will be able to spend more time with friends in future (ones that are bothered about me anyway)
In light of the above, when another close friend surprised me with a phonecall and mentioned she wanted to head off to distant lands for her 30th birthday, I rather leapt at the chance. I haven't seen her properly for years, or any of my other friends much as they all live so far away, so I thought that spending some time reconnecting would be a nice way to spend a little of this inheritance money. My uncle always loved his holidays anyway, and it turns out we'll get to visit somewhere I visited with him which seems like a nice way to use some of it. So I'm off to Florence & Venice for a week in November, and it only cost about £300, not to bad. I did shell out for a tour guide and Room With A View on DVD to get me in the mood, lets hope they arrive soon, the post is taking its time.
Ooh, what else.... OH! Kate. She was divine, divine I tell you! I may have cried through the first two songs. I've also never seen so many people take photos of the billboard outside. :rotfl: It was a magic night, and Mr M surprised me by buying a necklace from the merchandise stand (THIS ONE - not for £70 though, lol). I managed to hold out on buying a programme and then just totally failed as we were walking out the door. I'm glad I got one though, it made for some lovely reading. The rest of the day we spent wandering around Greenwich (who knew there was a Fan Museum there?! It's very sweet - and near to the MOST amazing sausage shop/cafe called Heaps, I urge you all to go if you're ever in the vicinity).
ETA: sudden interruption by Sainsbobs delivery - now where was I. Oh yes, a lovely day in Greenwich, one which I hope to repeat soon.It was so very strange doing something in London and then being able to easily get straight home again. I keep meaning to pop back in and have a day wandering around the V&A but I've been unsuccessful in my attempts so far - definitely one for next month though.
Ok, I think that's the main news from the last month, I hope everyone's doing ok, I can't wait to catch up with you all! I've still not found the lead for my laptop (:o), but I shall make a concerted effort to do so today so I can write proper replies (am borrowing Mr M's laptop currently, though he's attached to it in the evenings).

Hello P*M
Many congratulations on the job and the weight loss.
Sorry to hear you had such trouble with your new flat.
Wow to the trip to Venice and Florence. We honeymooned in Florence and are planning a return trip in 2017. I've been to Venice too but on my own years ago so not so romantic:rotfl:

Just a quick but proper hello & thank you kindly's to everyone above that I never managed to answer earlier.
Hbb - do you know yet when your Ald! is due to open? We're doing very well getting most of our shopping there, I keep finding lovely lovely things to munch in there, I'm so happy that I can pop in and come out with a bag of goodies for not very many pennies at all!
HOIT - eek, my list! I've probably only done about half of it, haha. I'd best take another look at it and see what things have been left languishing on it.
Newgirly - thank you! I managed to grab the voucher - ooh, is it today the next one is out?! I'd best go have a look!
Apple muncher! As you can see, things are still ticking along, thank you for nudging me back into action& thank you for the no sugar inspiration, it's made such a difference.

Lol on Venice, I've been twice but pretty much on my own as well (unless you count wayward family members). Might convince my friend to go on a gondola (complete with operatics of course) for a laugh. :rotfl:a penny picker upper.
