Thanks for the Rice Dream tip P*M, didn't realise you could set up alerts on MS.

:T So glad the trial went well and that they're keeping you on, that's great news! Will it be full time or will you still manage to keep Fridays free for plotting and planning?

:o Not sure which smilie to use for Mr. P*M's news ~ as you say, disappointing on one count, but plenty of potential good things could happen if they want to consider him for something else. It's just a shame if that's the option which throws your current job success up in the air! Fingers crossed that it all works out the best way possible for you both!

:p The "wabbit" wonderment continues ... I always thought it came into our family through the Irish end of things but sounds like we have a rogue Scot in there somewhere then? A Celtic origin might explain the both I guess!

Have a great week next week, sounds like you have plenty of cryptic planning a-foot ...!

PS: You'd be very welcome darn sarf here with us! Just kidding, we say dOWn SOWth where I am, don'tcha know?

Hi pearla , glad the job is going well and I hope you had a good Eurovision party :D
Knitted beards??? What sort of party was it...??
We had a fab Eurovision party :D Lol, apple muncher, I wish I actually did have a knitted beard but I could only look at the ones Conchita fans were wearing on tv. :rotfl: A knitted beard party would be amazing. :rotfl:

I have both Mondays & Fridays for plotting, planning and cracking on with self employment wondrousness! :D

I've got everything crossed, goodness knows what'll happen when I untangle!

Ooh maybe! Those Celts get everywhere, I randomly found out I have a Welsh ancestor a while ago... so I'm even more Celtic than I thought, which explains a few things! :D

I've lost the plot re: where I'm at with everything, lol. I wanted to come on and do a proper catch up the other day but got completely distracted with researching BTLs!

-- BLINKING HECK! Before I forget, Mr M met Mrs MSE today! :j But didn't realise who it was until afterwards, alas. Probably for the best, he'd probably have moaned about me being on here all the time. :p

Since I'm knackered right now I'll do a quick update and then try to catch up properly tomorrow/later.

BTL - am thinking that I might be able to look into doing this sooner rather than later. Lots more research to do and so forth, but the thought of having paid off a small place in 15 years or thereabouts and getting a big wad of cash every month is a very exciting thought! :D

Anyhoo - job! Can't remember if I explained properly but this was Plan Goodness Knows What in my Grand Scheme To Change My Life. To (attempt) to cut a long story short, I had various ideas and one of these was that I'd get a part time job so that I wouldn't have to freak out about getting money in (was working silly hours for nothing much before). So I'd get a basic wage that covered everything but could then cut out the time-consuming, rubbish side of my self employment and then focus on the utterly wonderful self employment stuff; namely the more (fantastical) long term projects that need a lot of experimentation or development time (eg. I'm writing a book! Or two. First draft of my novel is done, and I have another short story collection coming together nicely -- if I talk about it here then I HAVE to get it done! ;)).

MFW has been instrumental in jollying this along and helping me to identify not just what I want in terms of financial freedom, but ways I could choose to live my life, and a big part of that is living more simply and doing projects I love.

So anyhoo, I literally can't believe this job I've scored - I thought I'd have to do something very random and uninspiring but I've ended up getting something that allows me to use all my creative/marketing/project management etc skills (I have a very strange skillset cobbled together over the years!) It's with a small business and I have lots of freedom to help them build up their brand. So much fun! I'm having a whirl, have already brought in some great business and there's always potential that I could increase hours as business gets better and there are potential bonuses to be had! Woo! I'm also being paid more than I expected, I literally could not have asked for more. :D:D:D

I still need to tie up some old self employment stuff but it's going to be so good to work shorter hours and have more time. I'm looking forward to all the letters to friends I'll write and all the reading of books I can do. It's definitely hard to switch off and not sink back into 'work all the time' traps, but I'm slowly - slowly - getting better. ;)

Literally can't remember what else has been happening now, daresay it'll all gradually resurface.

:www: MFW Wonderment: found 1p today! Found quite a lot of coinage recently and emptied my purse (£1.5something) into the kittybank so all good. Have been tremendous with making packed lunches so lots of monies saved there. Awesome thoughts about How To Spend and/or Save Money, and work going fab, it's all good!

:coffee: Simple Pleasures: saw nine (NINE!) ducklings chirping away together on the river today! :smileyhea

:heartsmil Burrow Building: have continued to declutter, probably found another bag's-worth or bits. Vacuum packed winter blankets, jumpers, socks etc and suddenly have loads of room! A few cinema trips done and planned for the future so all good.

    PS. FREE BOOK!

...best go make my sandwich for tomorrow! Hope everyone's doing ok, can't wait to catch up with you all soon xx
