Well done on the job. Everything else is making my head buzz so how you're keeping on top of it makes the mind boggle. So, can we have a list please? You know the what's achieved bit followed by tweaked aims reflecting the changed circs? You've too much going on for me to keep track of. Also, take some time and reward yourself for your success. A wise man told me that you have approx 10 days in your working life where you get a promotion, the right job, etc. it's not many so don't underplay them and make sure you mark them in some way.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Helloooo! I shall be back soon to reply properly and with LISTS! LISTS I TELL YOU! By the way, I also have no idea what on earth is happening as things seem to change every day but the big news today....
It looks like we might be headed darn sarf after all! :j :j Can't remember what I said before but Mr M heard he didn't get the job but they still wanted to talk to him about another role, basically it turns out they liked him so much they want to work out a way to snap him up while they can. There's still some bits and bobs to be worked out, and nothing's completely official yet, but when it's all sorted then we'll be heading in the general direction of the big smoke in a few months time (currently reckoning beginning of September time maybe?).
So happy for him that such an amazing company are this keen to work with him, there's been all sorts of nonsense and stress going on for years so for things to change so drastically is just such a relief. We will definitely be celebrating once everything's certain and we've recovered from the overwhelming (yet draining!) sense of relief! PS. INOD - I've treated myself to an amazing 1920s style top from Azda (click here) as a Go Me! presentHave a few other ideas lurking though, shall try not to go too mad.
So the plan of action life-wise is - I'll crack on with my job. It'll build up some great skills (plus the money comes in rather handy). Then, when the time comes, I'll probably commute up every week and stay over for a couple of days with the inlaws (free! :j) and then go from there. If I book train tix far enough ahead it won't actually cost that much to do, and what with freeing up some money from leaving certain worky & such like things here, I probably won't actually notice much of an increase in travel costs (mental!).
Who knows if that would last long term, but it'd keep a big chunk of money coming in while moving to *weeps* such an expensive part of the country. There may be scope for me to work from home anyway, so I'm just going to go with the flow at the moment. Really must start decluttering like mad now - can't afford to get a big place down there  Or rather, will totally resent shelling out loads just to store all my junk.
I need to crunch the numbers, at first I thought I might have to give up BTL dreams for a while but if things work out with the travel as per the above then maybe not!?!We'll be doing some budget pondering over the weekend methinks.
So.... a few adventures ahead! Think I'm just in shock, things were so incredibly dire a few months ago and for such a change around it's just so overwhelming. I'm not complaining though, universe, keep it coming! :rotfl:
Shall be back asap with some more pondering and those lists and plans and more lists.
In other news, took two bags to the charity shop today - it was so flipping hot that I'd put my coat in one of the bags and almost donated it, oops! Had to run back and practically rip it out of their hands :rotfl:
Have a sunny weekend, everyone :wave:a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library0 -
Sounds like exciting times ahead
Congratulations to Mr PM.
Made me laugh about your coat in the charity bag :rotfl:
