Definitely!a penny picker upper. Not much to report - have been working. Payslip today and due to working an extra couple of days last month I'll get a similar paypacket as I did at the end of May, yippee! Had good feedback today as well, always nice
:www: MFW Wonderment: did more s&s isa/investing research.
Posted eBay stuff (made about £30, alas not more but better than nowt). Still waiting for £15 to be paid though. Urgh.

Reeling. Incredibly worrying in regards to Mr M's job (immediate concern given his area of work) and mine (mid-term i.e. two years or so). Depends if things tank financially as thatll filter through and affect my company.
Astounding to see the reported divide in vote choice of young & old/elderly voters.
Haven't slept much, all of us shell shocked at work, very strange day.
Off to airport now - strangely enough, am going to Germany for the weekend. Mad timing. Haven't bought euros, oops. Hope Mr M was more prepared!
Sunny skies with immense blue thunder clouds swirling about as we drive there. Suitably dramatic.a penny picker upper. Back in Blighty... weird weekend, (I've not been that well, and) we watched from afar, aghast at the developments. Best thing I've seen on't tinterwebs so far: "even Baldrick had a plan!"
Good news is that after some digging it looks like Mr M's job isn't as immediately at risk as first thought, due to pure miracle of funding changes not too long ago. Things don't look so good for lots of friends though.
Really not sure if people (at least some of the ones I've spoken to) truly realise how deeply and drastically this is going to affect everyone. Maybe not immediately but in years to come... financial strains & the upswing of the far right (can only see this getting worse as deeper cuts & rising prices hit vulnerable areas) being initial worries. Hearing awful stories already from friends re: racially motivated attacks. Just devastating. Really hope we see a proper sea change towards rationality and a desire to step up and resolve things... I guess we'll see.
So, we're taking it as it comes. Still living lightly - best to remain flexible in uncertain times. And living with intent - little things that make the world a better place can add up to a lot.
:www: MFW Wonderment: OnePolled, spending diary updated, resisted many a spending temptation while away (proud!).
Again saved around £35 on our online shop - always shopping in the offers section and working out meals around that.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: delicious beer on a hot day; meeting friends for drinks and much chatter; chocolate (oh my, was chocolate ever needed!); comfy beds when under the weather!
:heartsmil Burrow Building: during a moment of oh-gawd-I'm-just-going-to-move-to-Canada I've realised there is an awful lot of stuff here that I could easily put in storage for years. Liberating.
Think a weekend relaxing at home and playing board games is on the cards. Ooh, might make some nice munchies for us too.a penny picker upper. Quiet day at home today, trying to potter around and do things now I'm back on the mend from malaise. The heights of laundry mountain have been scaled again - though am leaving all other housework to another day..!
Not too may plans for this evening - watch the tennis and fashion together some sort of pasta sauce from the cupboards is as exciting as it's going to get.

Payday tomorrow :j

Thanks MCI, I accidentally took it easy by being ill again for a few days. :rotfl:
Thankfully back on the mend now - didn't realise how much time had passed!
Will have to catch up properly another day, but a few good things to report...
:www: MFW Wonderment: managed to accidentally choose a drink at $tarbucks that was half price (and using a payment card that Mr M had already got a good deal on).
£24 odd from TCB (have had to open a flipping case about the M&S gift card! Won't bother choosing that one again!)
Went to Aldee and chose lots of good veggie things to eat. Will be good to get waistline in check (reducing need to use extra body lotion/smaller clothes so more will fit in washing machine etc etc)
Took a whole bag of picnic snacks to WimblyWomblyto go with YS goodies brought by a money-saving chum and we didn't buy a single thing in there! :j
Glad I bought that laptop now the top news stories are that computers (and chocolate omg) are going to soar in price.
....and that's all I can remember for now.

Oops, awol again. Not quite my usual self at the moment but plodding on.
Literally can't wait for the weekend (I'll have four days off - yay).
Work is all very weird. Can't really go into it, but some concerning mutterings about our future going on given current climate. Not really sure I'm up for years of desperately trying help keep business afloat (I got out of full-time self employment for a reason - it's flipping stressful and I don't really want to go back to similar day to day worries or what, in this case, would be feeling overly responsible for lack of business when it's almost totally out of my control etc). I moved away from all that for a reason, am literally not interested in spending the next ten years feeling anxious about scraping by. I refuse to give up any more of my life to such stressful nonsense.
Meh. So. Going to have to seriously, seriously save the pennies so if I literally can't take it any more I can walk asap.
Did spend some time researching getting my Irish passport (literally can't believe I would ever have to entertain doing this). Will cost around £1k to get it - kind of feels like potentially money well spent if it gives Mr M & I more options in the future.
Though, all this being said, am quite a believer in focusing on Expecting The Best To Happen And It Will, so shall keep sending out good vibes to the universe and expect everything to work out well - it usually does before long.
:www: MFW Wonderment: £30 £co (yay), another £25 TCB (yay), another £5 voucher from BetterPoints and then both Mr M & I took advantage of Prime Day to buy Amazin vouchers for each other with the £5 promo credit offer, so we're £10 better off today (double yay!). I now have about £130 in Amazin vouchers. :rotfl: So that's Christmas :shhh: sorted.
Still chasing up TCB about my missing £25 m&s voucher though
New laptop already paying for itself - have been doing lots of OnePolling and YouGovving.
Mr M has found some nice little gifty things (hand cream set for my mum par exemple) in the sales.
Have had some nice, cheap & cheerful teas of late - soup with soda bread; scrambled eggs with veg & spices; stir fry with store cupboard stir fry sauce. Yumskins.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: cooking lots of healthy meals from scratch - Mr M had a health scare (he's fine but it was veryfor a while), and we've both decided it's about time to really get to grip with things. I've got him hooked on MyFitnessPal... hope he doesn't do better than me at it.
:heartsmil Burrow Building: good old time chilling out at home this weekend - we've had the record player on, read some books, watched charming films (e.g. My Neighbour Totoro :smileyhea). I love making a nest for myself on the sofa. :rotfl:a penny picker upper.
