Nothing much to report, have just been earning my pennies at work (then home and crashing out on sofa - not quite managed the exercise in the evenings yet
)
A few days off now with inlaws visiting (which means a bit of tootling around and seeing the country :j)
Taking advantage of their car with a trip to C0stc0 this morning
In other news - had tuna toasties for tea last night, yum. Must do that more often.a penny picker upper. Cooooeeee!
I know you are around, so am just popping by to say hello I and hope all is well with you and Mr Merle and the inlaws xNST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Helloooo  Yes, we had a fab weekend - very busy though, I've only just recovered!
Accidentally bought a book in the sale in a National Trust shop (had been trying not to buy booksbut it's lovely - Britain's Tree Story - a selection of famous/ancient trees and the myths/legends/history surrounding them).
A little chocolate mint plant also made it home with me - we wandered around an historic village and all the locals had plants, books, preserves and other bits and bobs outside their houses for sale. Love how industrious they all were :T Must keep that in mind for future.I'd love the odd £1 being posted through my letterbox by passers-by. :rotfl:
:www: MFW Wonderment: Spending diary and budgets brought up to date.
Nipped to Aldee, £7.50 on some veg and bits. We've done big shops recently (plus C0stc0) so we should only need a few odds and ends picking up for the next few weeks.
Turned a bunch of very ripe bananas into banana & chocolate chip muffins.
Will continue to use up as much as possible from the cupboards and see how long we can eek out between the shops. There's so much stuff in there, I didn't quite realise just how much until I started shifting things about for baking this morning.
:coffee: Simple Pleasures: freshly baked muffins with tea, yummm. Wanders in hot, sunny weather. The avenue of rose bushes that lead up to our building - so heavenly to walk past!
:heartsmil Burrow Building: Epic five hours of cleaning and tidying yesterday - properly spring-cleaned the kitchen and bathroom from top to toe. The whole place feels soooo much better now (whew). I've even managed to reorganise a few shelves in various rooms, I'll keep chipping away at that today - it makes such a difference.a penny picker upper. Nipping in, knackered this evening, can't wait for the weekend already.
Went to work, that's the most MSE thing today. Feel like I'm just trundling along there, but think that's more to do with me feeling a bit out of sorts.
In happy news - I did an hour aerobics yesterday and then came home & did half an hour straight after work. :j
Used up some has-sat-there-for-ages storecupboard !kea gravy with meatballs this evening. The supplies are going down :Ta penny picker upper. Hola, not much to report - have been just managing to stay on top of work then coming home and crashing in the evenings after doing myself in by eating something that did not agree with me on Thursday.
The last few days diet has been bread in various forms, it's all I could stomach. Breakfast: white toast & honey, lunch: white bread with honey, tea: brown toast with scrambled egg. Very money-saving to be eating all these cheap meals. :rotfl: Feeling better now (WHEW.) so may be more adventurous tomorrow!
In happy news, the fact I couldn't do much meant that my mind could wander and ruminate on a self-employed project that's been gathering dust, so I kickstarted that again last night and am feeling quite :j about it all.
Four days off now, hurrah. Not sure what we're doing tomorrow yet (probably just buying compost and then pottering about the house) but Monday will be a sort-out-accounts day.a penny picker upper. Take it easy Pearla! Glad you are feeling better - do you know what you ate that was so pesky?
Work seems to be hard work - is it enjoyable?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Work is definitely full on but it's brilliant, truly loving it. Loads of lovely people there, total turnaround from the last few years! :T
Think it was some dodgy salad that did me in  Am back to normal foodstuffs today, what a relief :rotfl:
We had a day of eBaying today - 19 things listed. :T I might have been sitting on a goldmine, one thing looks like it goes for about £40! Please Cross All Your Fingers And Toes!
Mr Merle did most of the writing up (thank goodness, I couldn't face it. I was supervisor) - he's been on the sofa all evening talking about his hard day's work down the eBay mines. :rotfl:
Also sorted out the accounts today after alla penny picker upper.
