Dont know why they have singled out Tesco - happens in all the supermarkets0 -
Well, I am proud to say I go along to Tesco occasionally to get some fruit and veg bargains at the end of the day but I have never seen any "fighting". Just people keen to grab a bargain - what is wrong with that?! After all, if it isnt sold, Tesco will only dump it so its a win win situation all round. We certainly eat better and try different products after one of these trips.
I must admit that some people are a little over eager but the staff usually put them in their place!0 -

"Type"? Really?
I shop in Aldi, Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury. What "type" does that make me? A canny shopper or a split personality?0 -

I'm confident we will never see this at Aldi mainly because their standard prices are better than Tescos discounted offerings!
When I visited Aldi on Monday I couldn't believe how happy people seemed to be, everyone was laughing and joking with each other, you don't see that very often, seemed more like a social club than a supermarket.0 -

Tesco tends to attract a certain demographic, obviously not everyone who goes there falls within this category, your Ladyship being an obvious and honourable exception. I doubt most Tesco clientele go on to shop at Waitrose!0 -
Actually I would lay a lot of the blame for this on the supermarket policy of reductions.
The other day I was in my local Tesco and their reduced section was jammed full of salmon, ready meals, cheeses and other refrigerated produce. It was 1pm and they were reduced by less than 10% (not worth buying really).
Doing late massive reductions only encourages thetype of behaviour described above and what I have witnessed locally and increasingly in the early evening. If the produce were better marked down earlier in the day and left at its original selling point (which is what Waitrose does) then others could get a bargain without the need for a scrum at 8pm. We all love a bargain but it can be better managed in light of the amount of waste we have recently been told the supermarkets are trying to cut.0 -

I suspect it depends where you live and where the tesco is situated.
If you look at the types of cars in the car park of our local one, you would assume that there was above average levels of affluence. The other shoppers appear 'middle class'0 -
I'm sure this happens in most supermarkets, funny Bristol and Slough are grouped together. We live in Bristol and shop at Tesco but never seen a scrummage for reduced items. Most of the time the reduction isn't that great.0
