  • I thought it was just me that thought it was a scam!!
  • Had a slot at 8pm, very little left that I wanted, only spent £30 instead of my usual £300, but won`t be queueing at the boxing day sale to bag a bargain!

Awful tat left at 7.00 p.m.!
  • Managed to get most stuff I wanted in the sale with my 5pm slot! Thought they had quite a lot this year altho I noticed that some of the prices went up from the Preview pages in the actual sale. I wanted a changing table for our new arrival next year and took a screenshot of it on the preview sale where it was £90 but when I went to buy it tonight it was £130. can they do this?
Still managed to spend nearly £700 tho on furniture and clothes for our impending arrival! Oops!x

In a word, yes. People often think if something is advertised at a certain price then it has to be sold at that price but that isn't the case. I'm not saying you thought that btw, just clarifying.

I had a 6pm slot but it was gone 6.30 when I got online and I got the four things I wanted :)

Thanks for the reply. Just don't think it's right of them to change the prior between preview and sale, but then again, they probably know that if people want it they'll pay it regardless!!!

Glad you got the things you wanted :-)

Did anyone else get the option of store collection?

I'm getting the option to have it delivered for £3.99 or free store collection..?

I totally agree - it's not the way to build/maintain a good relationship with consumers but as you say some people will still pay £130 if they want it that badly!

I thought I was going loopy. All the furniture I wanted had gone up in price since the preview. I bought a wardrobe, chest and bed for my son and it was about £80 more in total than they originally said it would be. Not half price either but the banner now says almost all items not all items half price.

They did the same last year with the almost half price thing for the VIP slots...then changed it for the sale proper to half price. I distinctly remember the furore...maybe someone can find the thread in the archives. Barstewards!

  • I picked my VIP slot at 6am this morning and all the items that I wanted were out of stock.

I just think they should have one day and pot luck rather than so many people be up sooo early and then all sold out.

However - a lot of things that I wanted are available on the main website at full price when the sale website is stating out of stock?

Seems very unfair and a bit of a con ..... have mailed Next and waiting for a response - so far nothing ....
