Morning all,
Thanks for all your kind words all, so glad that is over and done with for another year. Hopefully by the time I get to next July I will be nearly out of debt and will have a decent chunk saved to help me not panic so much about getting them MOT'd.
Tax credit went in this morning so I used it wisely and paid three debts.
NEXT £120
Co-op cc £30
Littlewoods £184.
It has finally taken me down to the £14,000 debt amount which feels great compared to £20,000 at the beginning of the year. Although I can't stop wishing this year away as to get below 10k which I should be by Christmas would feel fantastic.
In my 10k pay off target I have reached 55% completed. By the end of June it should be 60%, so I am still ahead of schedule even with my June blip.
Its nice to have these targets and little gimmicks to use while debt busting. Does that make me a geek?? I guess so.
Off to colour in my 100 squares sheet to show my 55% paid hahah0 -
Cor blimey Stpeh not only did you get through the mot's but you've made great payments on the debt too, well done and all credit to you for your continued focus and planning despite any potential setbacks.

I'm doing a celebratory dance on your behalf to see that N*xt in 3 figures. It will be toast soon. And as far as I can, when you start concentrating on the next bill (without a capital "N"
) it will be a good bit smaller than the N*xt (with a capital "N"!) was when you started it.

Hi Steph, you are really making great progress, well done.
Now that the cars are virtually "sorted", what is possibly the next thing that might send you off track, I know that you are a girl that likes a plan these days:), any big insurance renewals, new uniforms for September, school holiday expenditure, August has 5 Fridays as does October, will you have YNAB set up to cope with this.
Don't mean to be aface, but better if you are ahead of the game eh? Can't wait to see that 60% update, we will all be :j:j:j:j for you.

Great news about your MOT Steph!
I have a Very catalogue account which is owned by the same people as Littlewoods. I have one more payment (reduced from £3000 to £120):) then I get to call them up and cancel.:j I really cannot wait.
They are obviously noting that I haven't purchased anything from them in 3years and that I don't have much 'debt' on the account they are going into marketing overdrive. Bombarding me with emails, letters, texts etc. to try and get me to purchase something.
Since reading your posts I am starting to walk round my house now seeing if there is anything I could put on Ebay to get some extra funds £££That voice in your head that says you can’t do this is a LIAR!

Hi Chrysalis,
Thanks for posting. Its great to see Next finally under £1000 outstanding. Only basic payments made this month to everyone but as most of them are 0% interest then it is still a decent chunk off the debt total.
So pleased to have the MOT's behind me, can't quite believe we managed it :TI'm doing a celebratory dance on your behalf to see that N*xt in 3 figures. It will be toast soon. Hi mfmaybe,
I understood what you meant :rotfl:. Yes that will happen with the Littlewoods account as well. Littlewoods minimum payment agreement was £184 per month, so I will almost pay that off before the co-op card, so hopefully by the end of the year, I will just have 3 debts still to be paid off. But I started the year with 8 debts, so will be amazing if I can pull it off

Hi MM,
Thanks for posting, Yes it is important that I now adjust my focus to the next hurdle.
My biggie is that I now have ZERO emergency fund:eek:. So I have to get saving again as quick as possible.
I have a car fund and an Emergency fund as when they Emergency fund is at £800, I would like to get myself up to date with the mortgage.
That is my next big target. Once I get up to date with them (Basically pay them on the 1st of the month, instead of the last week), then I will get the bank account cashback for it which will be about £8 per month and also after a while I may be able to get on a better deal which they won't offer me atm because I am always abit late paying.
I need to continue with my savings accounts (Birthdays, Christmas, Car, Emergencies, Heating oil etc) as these are all biggies which threaten my progress if I am not prepared for them.
Life feels like such a battle sometimes. I can't wait to be debt free and not have to keep fighting every minute of the day0
