Glad my garbled explanation made sense. Simple idea but quite an incentive to keep going. As long as you don't set your target too high as then progress is far too slow.

That's why I have split mine over two years. xxx

    Morning all,

Not a lot to report today. All payments have been made, no money left for debt payments out of this weeks money.

Ebay items have dried up. Only thing going on at the moment is getting two lots of Easter bunting made, which will hopefully bring in about £30 +. Just got to make them before Easter haha.

Hope you are all doing well. x
  • £9 away from under £17k is amazing! :j

Your March mini goal was to get under £18k, now it's to get under £16.5k - does that mean you're £500 ahead of yourself now?! That's fantastic!!

As dull as quiet days with nothing to report are, you know how the saying goes: no news is good news!

Get digging around for more things to put on ebay. No doubt the kids will have stuff tucked away in their rooms they haven't played with for years! ;)

    xx

    Hi Kim

When I got to the end of March my debt total was about 17.5K, so I thought that setting the Mini Goal for April at getting under 17k was a little too easy considering I am trying to pay 1k off per month.
Setting it at under 16.5k keeps me on my toes to keep paying off as much as possible.

Desperately want to get the debt under 10k by the end of the year.
If I could get through the year without any financial disasters then my debt could be around 8k left to pay.:T.
Not banking on having no disasters though so just getting under 10k would be amazing.

Have found out that Dd does'nt want her large kitchen anymore, so going to look at listing that. She also has tonnes of quite expensive wooden toy food etc that will hopefully sell separately.

By the end of next year our house will be bare. lol

    Morning all,

Balanced YNAB against bank this morning. Just weekly food shop gone out so nothing much financial to report.

I have a Sun Newspaper holiday booked for this weekend to North Devon. I have only managed to save £40 in the holiday fund which will probably cover the fuel cost.

I do have £29 left in my FUN money pot, and another £20 to come for next week. I think if I take some food with us then I will hopefully not have much to spend out for while we are there. Planning on going on a lot of walks and trips to the beach.

Fingers crossed we can do it in budget.

    Hi Steph,
Great news about your holiday, I am sure that you can do it within budget if you take food from home. Do your children have pocket money?, if so could you top it up by a small amount so that when it is divided by the number of days you are away it covers the cost of an ice cream say, plus a little more that they can spend in a day or save to buy something small to take home at the end of the time. (Of course you may already do this so please ignore):D Friends have always done this with their young ones, and no topping up from mum if they spend it at the beginning:(. I think it would really reinforce the hard lesson that your little boy has had and stand them in good stead for the future. (My brothers were really good with their money, but my sis and I had to have it explained to us quite a few times before we got the message:rotfl:) For me it is always the little treats that derail all my plans:eek:

Back from a lovely couple of days away, nice rural campsite, but with lovely facilities and a heated shower block - such luxury:D, read lots, listened to all the nice stuff on my i-pod and generally lazed. Nice post this morning got a cheque from CPP for £44 and some pennies, just been to strength training, so better get showered and pop into the bank before the letter gets caught up in the general clutter that is my filing system.

Another holiday thought (sorry) - can you print off some treasure hunt type things and/or relevant colouring for beach, cliff walk etc, so you don't hear "I'm bored" too often.

    Your new figures look great:T

ETA "nice" seems to figure rather strongly in my vocab today. LOL
