I love garden gate sales for plants, eggs etc. It's perennials all the way for me, I am too tight to spend much on annuals:money::rotfl:
One of the attractions for this house when we bought 2.1/2 years ago was the garden, it has two 60ft or so borders and 3 smaller ones. Already came planted with some nice trees and several shrubs which are "keepers". It is my aim to fill the borders with perennials (like the country house gardens) and to date I have spent a fortune on plants and compost etc.
I have almost given up being tempted by the plants at the large garden centres and buy a lot from an elderly lady who grows some sturdy plants and sells at the gate and from a specialist perennial grower set in a huge walled garden, you can go and wander around looking at all the plants established there as well as the stock to buy and they do tea and cake with all proceeds going to Wateraid which is a charity I am very keen on, just waiting for the e-mail to tell me when they are opening up (:j and  in good measure).
ETA Having thought about it, I feel £2 per 6 plants might be too cheap, even at £2.50 they would be a steal. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
HI SS,
Love the idea of growing flowers to sell... unfortunately not only do I not have green fingers but if I put anything out the front of my house it would be stolen not paid for!!!
I thought of you this weekend as I purchased my veg and salad seeds.. I'll let you know how I get on...!!!!
Keep going with that BC...

Brilliant idea on the flowers Steph..our local market used to do them at £2 each or 3 for £5, so nearly everyone bought three and that way you might shift more. Goodluck.

Hi Wantabetterlife
Good idea about the 3 for £5 offer. Will definitely do that xxdawnybabes wrote: »Can you sell some of them at the car boot ? Advertise the n your local Facebook page.

Hi Dawnybabes,
I did think about FB, I am friends with a lot of people in our village, so might do a post saying what is on the bench today. sort of thing. Its knowing how much to spend in advance. Tricky when I'm broke

Hi DFW,
No sun today
Had to prioritise house cleaning today. After being outside all weekend, the poor house was in a state. Got lots more to day, but having a coffee for a min and posting on here.
Hope all is good with you xx0 -
Afternoon all,
I still hate the postman coming .
I had one letter today from N#xt.
I spoke to them the other day and they happily agreed to fix my payments at £120 for the next three months so that I can catch up.
My current outstanding amount is £1600. (shown on my N#xt online account)
I now, today get a letter from them with a new credit agreement, wanting me to sign something that charges £25.99%
Total charge for credit £222.53
Total amount Payable £1944.35
My gut reaction is to NOT sign it. I have run behind on payments before and I have finally caught up with no extra charge, NOW, after speaking to them and doing the right thing, they try to charge me a fortune.
Any idea what I should do. I don't really want to ring them again as I doubt there is any getting around it.
On the website it says that my account is overdue by £254.49. Maybe I should do my best to pay that off over March & April and just ignore the letter.

I've no idea on the n3xt, i hope someone can help
if you paid the overdue amount asap do you think they'd still make you sign? If not then perhaps make this your priority for the next month until you are back within agreed payments? Hi DFW,
Yes that's all I can think of. Its really annoying because I told then that the best payment I can make is £120 per month. The lady I spoke to said that she would set it for three months because by then my minimum payment would be around the £120 mark anyway.
So they want to charge £222 for three months grace . Terrible. I wouldn't mind if I was only offering to pay £5 per month or something silly.
Grrrr. Think I might put my head in the sand with this one and just try to make larger payments asap.
On a positive note, I just sold some bunting, withdrew the £21.63 from Paypal and paid it straight against my Barclayc#rd. Now stands at £574.
After Barclayc#rd, my next debt was going to be the co-op cc. but maybe I should do N#xt. They are both similar totals.0 -
Hi Steph
You are doing great. I wouldn't sign anything from Next - at least not without getting advice from the experts on the main DFW board. Sounds like they are trying to shift you into another loan agreement - you will already have an agreement with them so I would just stick to paying what you can off that.
Keep going!0
