  • Thanks for your help with the cake ideas ladies, think I am going to have a go at an Illusion Gravity cake.

    https://www.pinterest.com/pin/413979390721231694/

It looks fairly affordable with just a regular chocolate sponge and then a tonnes of sweets .

Think I may use my Tesco Vouchers on a local cheap restaurant and take the cake with us.

Might make more of an event of it. xxx

Woke up to the bank account being -£46 . Thankfully the guy that employed hubby last week called this morning asking for some more work to be done and I managed to kindly ask him if he could possibly settle last weeks invoice asap. He knows hubby has been off work a while so he was understanding and paid it in a few moments ago. Phew!!! :o

I have managed to book hubby out at jobs all week, he has some more jobs to quote for so fingers crossed work will keep trickling in.

Washing is out on the line, animals all fed.

Not much else to report really, visiting a friend today who has not long come back from three weeks touring the West Coast of America, so will be great to hear how she got on. (whilst keeping the green eyed monster at bay ;)).

FIL's girlfriend has now arranged for someone to make Dd a bridesmaid dress, out of some highly flammable looking blue satin!. Poor Dd, hope it doesn't turn out as bad as I am imagining

Hope you get to enjoy the sunshine this week, looks like our last shot at some sunshine xx

Ha ha ha! Steph - take a look at my facebook page. Somewhere on there is a picture of my daughter wearing a bridesmaid's dress that used to be my sisters. She wore it to a Cousin's wedding in the mid-80's! Hope you don't end up with something like that!.....Though my daughter calls it her 'Elsa dress' just because it's blue! ha ha ha

Haha its exactly the same colour and shape, except hopefully without the lace :rotfl:

Disturbingly though I expect Dd will love it just as much as your daughter loves hers. Guess that's the joys of being 8. :D
  • Morning Diary,

Just a quick update before I head off to work.

All ticking along nicely here, got my 2.5 hr cleaning job this morning and then I have to rush home to make a Pavlova as we have been invited to a friends for dinner and Ds to have a sleepover with their son. Should be a nice family nice, but need to take a pudding with me.
I figured pavlova would be cheap ish as I already have the eggs, so I picked up a punnet of strawberries and a tub of double cream yesterday which came to about £3. Just got to hope it turns out ok ;).

Hubby got paid another £200 today, so a steady trickle of income coming in, thankfully always just enough to stretch over the forthcoming bills but never enough to allocate extra to debts just yet.

Nothing much to report, I have sorted out the fairy cakes I am send in with Ds on his birthday next Tuesday and figured out his cake design, I will just have to add some sweets for the decoration onto my shopping list. I might exchange my Mr T vouchers for PizzaExpress or Prezzo and we can go there on his birthday evening. Aparently its only drinks that can't be used against the vouchers so we can all have a fizzy drink and then it will be pretty cheap.

Still haven't figured out what is happening with Ds's birthday presents, whatever happens it will have to be something from Argos now as its too late for delivery :o.

    Hmmm Must get thinking.

Hope you all have a great day xx

    Hi Steph,

Sounds like your still being a busy bee.... glad OH is all better and back to work!

Loving the bridesmaid dress chat... I'm sure your daughter will love it and then will look back at photo's when she's a teenager and say.. "you made me wear THAT...." Make sure you take plenty of snaps..!!

Hope your cleaning goes well and when you have finished can you pop over and do mine.. pretty please......

Good luck getting ds's birthday sorted, the cake sounds interesting, are you still buying him a laptop or has that now been abandoned for a more reasonably priced gift?

Have a lovely day and weekend..

    Hi puzzcat

All finished with the cleaning. Phew..I should start my house now but got to have some lunch and a sit down :o

I am sitting tight with Ds's birthday present at the moment.
An absolutely wonderful person who will remain un-named unless they declare themselves, have offered to send me an old laptop of theirs that they don't use anymore :D:j. I know!! isn't that amazing!!. So I am a little undecided what to do? Think I might pop out on Monday and get a couple of other bits that Ds wanted like a cheap scooter and some books, just in case the laptop doesn't arrive by his birthday , so he has something to open.
The people on this website NEVER fail to amaze me :A.

Looking at the payments hubby has received this week there is not a chance that I could have afforded a laptop for Ds, and I am sure that this amazing persons old laptop will be perfectly fine for an 11 year old.
