Just think if you can manage without dipping into the emergency fund too much after the op it could be your "month in advance" mortgage payment.Sealed pot challenge 822

Putting your mortgage onto direct debit is the best thing you can do. Not only will you get your cashback from santander but it will always be paid on time which will help when you are looking to get into a better rate mortgage.
You just have to get yourself ahead with the mortgage payments like you have said, by putting the money away each week so that you are sure it is there well in advance of the direct debit date.
It may hold up your debt repayments slightly but it will put you in a much better position and reduce the worry that you have at the present of meeting that mortgage payment.0 -

Morning all,
Sorry I haven't been posting lately, life has been so hectic.
Spring is always the busiest time for me as the amount of farm animals we have here ramps up and the growing season in the veg plot gets going.
We spent most of the weekend trying to re-organise a very full barn. It was abit of a puzzle but is starting to look better, although still lots of work to do. Poor hubby has gone back to work exhausted
Finances are stumbling on, I have managed to squeeze abit more out of the account into the Emergency fund, which now stands at £544, so hubby could just about afford to have 1 week off sick, just need to get it up to £1,000 for him to have two weeks off if needed.
Its been an expensive month as the children seem to be costing me a fortune. My son has taken up cricket so needed the cricket whites, pads, bat etc etc etc, he is now playing matches and is trying to get me to buy the helmet as well . Trouble is he is playing cricket with a couple of mates who have all the kit so think he is trying to keep up with them.
My daughter has gone back to pony lessons, which thankfully isn't too bad at £10 per week but I had to buy Johdpurs and chaps for her the weekend as she was getting bruises on her calves from the saddle. she now wants to join Pony Club and of course that means more money from me . Its never ending and I really HATE to say no to them doing these things.
Ds would quite happily spend his whole life in front of his Xbox so I like to encourage him to play sports, and Dd eats, sleeps and breaths ponies so finding it hard to hold her back from that.
In all fairness we did stop swimming which cost £48 per month so I am kind of in credit but still.........
Feeling abit sad for my son this morning, we take a boy to school every morning who ds really likes and gets on well with, but I am not sure the feelings are mutual. We have had this boy for countless sleepovers and days at our house but my son is NEVER invited back. It wouldn't be too bad but this morning on the way to school this boy was explaining how he had invited another boy from the village to his house and spent all weekend together. I could see my son visibly wilt as it seems the boy will happily come to ours but never chooses my son to go to his.
My son is a lovely friendly boy, can be abit childish sometimes but he just doesn't seem to have a best mate at school so he never really gets invited to anyones houses. The only way he gets out of school meet ups is if I invited them round which gets abit annoying after a while when the invites never get returned.
Not sure what the solutions is, guess Ds will have to wait for high school to hopefully find a best friend.
Ok that's my motherly rant over for the day, I have got a poorly friend who is home from hospital, so I will try to get some budget flowers and a lunch and go visit her today. Hard to be generous when you don't have much money
Speak soon xx0 -
Aw it's awful when they don't get invited back - my son doesnt either - pErhaps bypass the boys and ask the mum direct if he can go back to there's for s couple of hours and don't tell your son you've asked.Sealed pot challenge 822

Aw that's awful Steph. Mine are too young to be involved in that sort of friends stuff but I am dreading it. I hate people being left out. Does that boy's mother have no sort of social conscience at all?
You are doing fantastically well with the emergency fund. You will be there in no time at all.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
