  • Hi Steph, Congratulations on paying off Littlewoods. It must feel great. Under 10, 000 now! I agree it was a good idea to stop the swimming lessons - you can always start them up again some time and the 46 pounds a month can be used elsewhere. Nearly Spring for you now, you must be looking forward to it after what seemed to have been a very cold winter, at least on the news over here in Oz. Regards baglady

Well done Steph on what you have achieved to date.

You should be so proud of yourself. I hope hubby appreciates all your efforts.

You are now heading for the home straight. You will do it, I have every confidence in your abilities.

    Take care.

Finally catching up after half term :)

Well done with littlewoods Steph :) that's brilliant :)

Hope your hubby finds more work soon :)

I think I found your house on Google maps the other day (Is yours the one with the van with a ladder on top parked outside?) :rotfl: I still haven't posted your parcel - I will do it asap I promise!!

    xx

    Hi Lhead

Hubby has just put a quote in for what looks like about 3-4 weeks work. Fingers crossed he gets it :D

Haha so funny you looked me up on Google. On the updated streetview you can see hubbys van with a ladder on the top, but i think the overhead view is still of the previous owners cars etc.
Its a chalet bungalow with a large yard and then a big green barn.
Looks like a bomb site :rotfl:. Definitely a work in progress :o

No rush with the books. What was the verdict on the car??

So delighted for you to have cleared Lwoods...good riddance to it. I would say your spa work will soon pick up as its approaching Mothers Day etc. I find people really do not spend in Jan or Feb.

    Keep going Steph.

    Hi Sweetpea

    Thanks so much xx

Funny you say that the spa owner paid me today and warned me that the next four weeks are going to be super busy :T

I told him that we were a little strapped for cash recently so would appreciate any amount of treatments he could throw my way.

There are other therapists that can also do my type of treatments so I thought if i made him aware that I really need the work then he may push more my way. Fingers Crossed.

    xxxxx
Well done super Steph, four down and four to go, hooray half way there.

The Facebook update is a really good idea.

    Hi tootallulah

I got off MSE earlier and sent an update from hubbys FB page and will try to remember to send 1-2 out per week.

Fantastic on Littlewoods. :T:T that sig is looking awesome. You are into 4 figures.

So will you snowball, or focus on the emergency fund first? I vote emergency fund, by the way ;).

    Hi mfmaybe

I put an update on hubby FB page earlier and also shared it on mine. All helps to get his business name around doesn't it. xxx

I desperately want to snowball that spare money onto the Co-op card, but think i am going to have to be sensible and put it towards savings. At least for the short-term. I am failing miserably to save anything at all during February, so need to pull my finger out before hubby gets an operation date.

At least if he doesn't need it all I can then pay it against the debt.

Thanks so much for being that little voice on my shoulder :). I often try my best to ignore that little voice of sensible-ness but i know what I should do.

    big hugs xxxx
    Evening Steph,

Well done on getting down to 4 debts :T. Good on you for cancelling the swimming too, I'm sure you will all feel better for having your Friday's back xx

    Hi MTG

As much as I will probably mummy-guilt myself because I am not getting them to be super confident swimmers, I have to accept that in our current situation, swimming lessons are a luxury i cannot afford. I can at least be happy that they CAN swim, man y children their age can't so I will try to not be too hard on myself.

and yes it will be amazing to have a relaxing Friday evening xxx

    Hi Baglady

    Thanks for replying.

Feels really good to get definitely under 10k.

I must admit that down in the south in Dorset we haven't had the weather too bad really. Lots in the north have had alot of snow but we have escaped it so far.

Daffodils are out, lambs in the barn, potatoes chitting under the bed and Chilli seeds on the window sill. Sure feels like nearly spring xxxxx

1C and sleeting here today, didn't feel springlike at all  <<<frozen face.

No worries at being that annoying voice! It was funny because I read your post, got all excited myself at how quickly the next debt would disappear, and then told myself off, as if it was my debt/diary so I thought I'd better share. :rotfl: As you say the emergency fund could become a balloon payment later. Fingers crossed for the work quote, and well done on the FB update.

  • I know it's not really our diary but I always get a bit excited for Steph when another debt gets paid off or the spa comes through with another 100 pounds or so as payment for treatments. Hope your OH quote is successful (fingers crossed). Gee mfmaybe - 1dec and sleet!! definitely not Spring.

Me too! Well done on paying off the Littlewoods Steph. It feels like you've really turned the corner now. You've paid off half the number of debts and half the value. You're through the dark dead days of Jan and Feb and have started on the polytunnel and seeds and your spa treatments are looking as if they'll provide a good source of income. Your decision on the swimming lessons will free up time and money and the extra snowball money from Littlewoods will really speed things up, (but as you say emergency fund first!).

    Ra ra , go Steph!:T:T:T
