Debt free by 40 -- 19 Months and counting

couple of things come to mind here.
judging by this year you don't need to be making massive amounts more money yourself you are well on target to get rid of the debt on time. I would suggest you give yourself time to make better spending decsions . so you get back up to the 1K per month figure rather than the £750 your doing now. its not just about getting it in. Also you will start jan 15 with less debt unlike last year when it went up. also don't forget how much you'll be saving once you tackle the Tesco s debt and all their interest!

I agree about reading your diary from the start I do this every so often especially when I'm being hard on myself and it does put things into perspective xx
Hi abba
I had a little read yesterday of the beginning of my diary. Can't believe I nearly consolidated it all into a massive secured loan . I had forgotten about that.
So glad to have halved the debt this year, I am just so impatient. Like everybody I guess.
Thanks for your post xxxxI agree with everyone else. You're stressing about money now because it's going to be a tight month. The wreaths and Turkeys on top of christmas is plenty to be worrying about! Leave all the making more money thoughts to the new year when there's less to think about, and then look into some of your money making plans and see if any are worthwhile.
Use that filofax of yours to make a list of possible ideas, just so they aren't running round in your head. Then once they are written down you can close that page and not look again until January when you have the time and the energy to research each idea (unless you have another idea in the meantime to add to the list that is).
Hope you have a good day today. We were nearly late for school as J took an age to eat her breakfast...Then S screamed his was home because he was hungry, but promptly fell asleep after a bottle so I could sit down, sort YNAB and have a cup of tea
I'm selling and helping at a nearly new sale tomorrow. Hopefully it will bring us a bit of money (I've just got to make sure I don't spend too much!), ans also I can finally get the bags and bags of outgrown clothes out of our front room!
L xx
Hi lhead
Good idea about listing all my thoughts in my beloved Filofax. I will do that and maybe it will stop my brain from whirring quite so much
Hope you do well at the nearly new sale, such a good idea. I ended up handing down most of my children's baby clothes. I missed a trick there.

Glad you are feeling a bit better today. It's no wonder that money worries are one of the highest on the scale for causing stress. I have been debt free for a long number of years but can still recall the stress I felt when I had no spare money.
Although it is great to be debt free and not have to worry about money, you need to remember that there are more important things in life and making sure that you and your family are healthy and at peace is one of these things.
Don't put yourself under too much pressure because that will affect your whole family. You are well on the way to beating this debt, so try to relax and enjoy Christmas.
You are right Moneywhizz. If mum isn't happy, nobody is happy :T.
I am looking forward to getting todays last Christmas fair over and done with and then I just need to complete the last of the Wreath orders, do my week at the turkey farm and then I am done. So from the 15th I will be to look at getting us ready for Christmas and some time to myself :T
Thanks for your reply Moneywhizz xxx0 -

Hi eco
I think you have a good point there. I do let a terrible amount of money fritter accidentally each month. Things like small wants for the children's and busy days ending with quick takeaways .
You definitely have a point that I have proved we can pay 1k per month IF I stem the flow of misc spending. So watching the money we actually have is almost more important that rushing around trying to get money in.
Thank you eco farmer. I love this site. Little insights like that from people who are not in the thick of your situation really makes a difference.

no worries a household budget is no different to a business one.in my own industry many farmers have been guilty of maximising there income but each unit of income has become more marginal(costs more to achieve) and forgotten about the overall cost. so when their income drops(like now) they are struggling to say afloat . hence the pointless embarrassing protesting that's going on at the moment. On the bright side what a glorious morning it is in the blackmore vale!

Hi eco
It has been a beautiful day. I have been at Gartells Light Railway at a Christmas Fair all day so haven't seen much of it.
On the bright side I did sell £90 worth of Christmas Wreaths so definitely worth the effort.
I am setting the 1st January as my new date to start squeezing every penny out of our income. No more odd little spends and I am also going to add a small budget of money to tricky categories so that we do have a small budget but only small so that we have to save if we really NEED something.
Thanks eco xx0 -
Afternoon all,
Just back from the Christmas Fair. I made £90 :T.
That was extra on top of my normal orders so doing well.
29th Nov Christmas Fair £84
6th Dec Christmas Fair £90
Orders x 31 £372
Total :- £543
The sign on the road so far hasn't drawn anyone up, but it was worth the gamble.
Not a bad little profit for a couple of weeks work. I will definitely continue this Christmas time venture. Just need to think of some other big earners during other times of the year.
Off now to try to sort out my disaster of a house xxx0 -
