    Hi abba

Yes he is fine, they think it is just a muscle in his eye not working properly.

Think I am just a creature of habit and when my plans get blown I think I get abit stressed.

I need to learn to go with the flow a little more.

Think I am feeling the pressure of getting all these wreaths made before I start my other full time turkey plucking job next week. Sure I can do it in three days hopefully :o
  • Afternoon,

Busy day here today. I managed to get 9 wreaths made. I lost some time because I needed to go into the woods to get some holly with berries.

I have had the offer of doing a large Christmas Fair on the 13th December. I am being indecisive about it though because it is £45 for the pitch and as I am working full time next week I am worried I wouldn't have time to get enough stock built up, and I also think there are other people selling wreaths so may not do that well.

Typing this makes me feel that I already know the answer to this dilemma ;).

I am working all next week , then that weekend is Dd's birthday and then I may be doing a few extra days with the turkeys but I am then quite looking forward to having nothing much else to do except kiddies usual school events and getting ready for Christmas.

Got my haircut tomorrow morning, really want to be getting on with my Christmas wreaths but my hair needs attention badly and as its only a cut and blow dry hopefully it won't take up too much of my time.

With hubbys wages this week and Children tax credit, I am planning on trying to cover the whole months direct Debits so that I can make sure they are definitely covered. Not sure when hubbys wages will be coming in from the Turkey farm so don't want to run short. Once he gets paid then the mortgage and debts can be paid.

Going to be abit of a juggling act, but hopefully we should cover all the bills.

Off to get dinner sorted. More leftover Mexican food from the weekend :o

Hi Steph, just catching up with your diary. Sounds like you've been really busy lately. Good luck with all your wreath making :)

You've reminded me that its been a long time since I got my hair cut - I think it was feb/march time. Hmm should probably do something about it but maybe next year.
    Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500  1.9.25 - £105,664.31
    Mortgage overpayment savings - £16.54/£50
Mortgage overpayments so far - £800.96
  • Just catching up with you Steph :) You are like Wonderwoman..I think you would be better off not doing the fair..concentrate on what you have planned to do. Hard to believe only 3 weeks until it is all over :) I love Christmas, the Faith side of it and the family getting together. It is also a very emotional time of the year too.

My friend called today and she went shopping last weekend. Said it was ridiculous, people going nuts and fighting over car park spaces all to start getting ready for Christmas :):):) lol..

    Hi MissTara

Haha maybe its time for you to have a cheap trim too. ;)
My hair has gotten so long and my fringe grown out, I am starting to look like some mad bush woman.
Will be nice to have an actual style again :)

Can't really afford the time or the money this morning but I am going to go as I really need a spruce up.

Probably won't have another cut until Christmas 2015 so will enjoy it :D

    Hi SweetPea,

I must admit that Christmas seems to be racing up this year. I am glad of that as I hate the whole emotional pull to spend money you can't afford.

I will be glad when the children finish school as there seems to be a new letter everyday asking for money or hamper items etc. So expensive.

I am an avid online shopper so mostly manage to avoid the Christmas chaos. I even book my Tesco online food shop early for the 23rd so I can avoid the supermarkets. Too much temptation out there, I can't be trusted :rotfl:
  • Morning.

Just having a quick coffee before I head off to the hairdressers. I am hoping it will be around £25 fingers crossed. Will probably be my last one for another year so I will make the most of it :D.

I need to head into a discount card shop next week to get birthday and Christmas wrapping paper.
I also need to get into the attic to get leftover Christmas cards. I make the mistake of buying new every year and then realise I have tonnes left over in the attic.

Monday I will start ordering the Childrens Christmas presents. Think they have narrowed down what they want and I may as well get them ordered and done.

Dd's Birthday presents are all bought ready for next Sunday.

We don't really buy for adult family members, had that awkward conversation a few years ago when we were broke.
I do need to buy two gifts for my nephews and get them posted, but otherwise nothing.

I have started a £1 per day for Christmas 2015 challenge. It sounds like a painless way to get a few hundred pounds together. Then maybe next year hubby and I might afford a present for ourselves :D.

As soon as I get back from the hairdressers, I need to get on with the Christmas Wreaths. I really want to get another 10 made today, then 10 tomorrow and then I can take some to the Christmas fair on Saturday and then make another 10 on Sunday I should have 90% of my orders made up, unless I sell loads at the fair.

I am abit sad that the wreath and turkey plucking money is going to be needed to actually keep the bills paid this Christmas, instead of them being the extra unexpected cash that I always hope for.

I guess I need to be thankful that I will have this money so that we are not stressing about paying the bills. Maybe next year the money won't have to go to bills :o.

Have a good day all x

Happy haircut Steph you deserve it and I am sure that next year you will be sorted enough to put the "Christmas earnings" to something nicer than the bills:) Hopefully you will be able to feed the emergency fund alongside paying the debts to take the pressure off you and OH regarding winter earnings - or lack of them sometimes being SE.

  • Evening.

Not sure if I have over done it with the caffeine today but I am feeling quite unhinged tonight. :o

I feel like I am obsessing about ways to make money. I have been thinking and thinking about different little businesses I could set up.
It all started after my hairdressers appointment. They had a lovely flower arrangement in there with the companies business flyer with it. It was a flower arranging company that specializes in homegrown Dorset flowers that they grow on their farm and supply to shops, nursing homes and for weddings.

It got me thinking that I could grow flowers on our smallholding but then I think they grow flowers by the acres and also probably have some sort of flower arranging credentials that I do not.

I then thought that even if i did slightly try to do something like that, then they are already doing it not that far away from me.
It would be really nice to think of something I could do to make money that people are not already doing locally. But what???

That is what I have been obsessing about today :(

I am beginning to annoy myself.

I have also been given a tip off about a local Artisan market this Sunday, it WAS fully booked but apparently they have had some traders back out last minute. I stressed about whether to contact them about booking a stall?. I tried to talk to hubby but he seemed disinterested and more interested in getting ready to go to Badminton and his own goings on than listen to me.
I have contacted the organiser and I am waiting for a reply, I feel the pressure to sell as many as possible as every wreath I sell over the initial first 10 wreaths is a profit. BUT I am abit stressed about getting all the orders completed without adding more to it.

Aaargh Why do I make life so difficult for myself :(:o.

I kind of know I am over stressing and not being rational, that's why I am ranting on here, hoping that typing it all down will give me some clarity.

Its times like this that I really wish my mum or dad were around to talk to. I feel sad that I don't really have anybody that I can talk these things through with and who I can trust will answer with my best interests at heart. I have friends but not many that I trust not to talk about me behind my back.

I'm just being silly i suppose but my main way of working things out to is to talk about them and I just seem to be lacking that outlet at the moment.

Sorry to babble on all. Hopefully I will snap out of it and be back on fighting form tomorrow. xxxx
  • I know exactly what you mean about not having someone to talk to with your best interests at heart. My mum just passed away recently and it just struck me that I have lost the one person who would always want the very best for me.

I think these forums are a good place to share how you really feel and get good advice, because there is no reason for any wrong motives creeping in.

Personally I think you are already working very hard at making extra money, while running a home and looking after your family, animals and your land. If you are going to be working full time next week maybe you shouldn't take on any more orders for wreaths. You don't want to cause any more stress for yourself.
