Just catching up after being away Steph - you have been very busy! The wreaths sound like a great Christmas earner - Christmas fairs are great for that kind of thing as people often buy on impulse I think if the thing is there in front of them. Hope work picks up for your OH too.

Many thanks Dawn, I am starting them this week and will have the first ones as samples ready at the end of this week for a couple of Christmas Fairs I am doing.
How does the First week of December Sound? You don't want it too early as I have never tested how many weeks they last for. Would hate for it to be looking scruffy by Christmas.

Yes I prefer the December Fairs where people can take them away with them, also saves a lot of me tripping round the county delivering.
Just hope I can shift loads. Fingers Crossed.

Afternoon all,


I made three debt payments today.


L1ttlewoods £184
B2rclays Overdraft £130
Co-0p Cc- £40


Now at 94% of the 10k for 2014 paid off. I am on track to be down to 10k still owing by January 1st. :T


Can't wait to start my new debt journey again in January.
Will be lovely to see it going down to single figures. Can't wait.


Killing off 10k of debt seems so much more achievable now, and I will be able to hopefully do it within 2015.
Its up to me now if its Summer or Christmas of 2015.
Need to get focused and make sure I keep control of misc spending as that is my killer. Amazon is my nemesis .
Think I would almost do with adding it to our "Blocked Website" list on our internet security.

your wreaths look lovely
I make all my bases now and then cover with fresh holly in December I also make some wreaths with just Noble fir and cones on for early sales.I put my cones in the oven to dry them as it opens them up nicely
you have probably already thought of this :-)
when you do your craft fair take a wreath to make up whilst you are there it will draw a crowd and it gets people talking to you
I normally use moss but you can also use leylandii to make wreath bases as long as there are no big stems it binds up ok and you can wire through it ok


I have a workshop and for the first time ever rats have got into our out building !!! I was working the other day and one appeared out of the cavity wall and disappeared under some stuff .so I got pest control out and he baited the building. I am not particularly scared of rats but to my horror yesterday ratty appeared on the floor not looking to well and started staggering towards me but then disappeared round some boxes. So I had to spend the rest of the day keeping one eye out for my friend problem is I suspect he is not alone !!!!

Early December sounds fine to me :-). I've wrote all my Xmas cards today - I normally leave it till the last min and have to use first class they are now in the hall ready to go 1st dec

Hi all,


I'm still here. Thanks lhead for giving me a kick.


Been super busy making all the wreath bases up on Wednesday and today I went to a day seminar on ADHD. My son is on the spectrum and can be hard work to deal with, so I signed up for this seminar hoping it would give me some strategies. Turns out they spent 5 hours talking about the problem but we were given no new ideas .


One good thing did come out of today though, apparently they run an 18 week course where after a couple of weeks, parents implementing their ideas have seen big changes in their household. So I signed up to that and am now on the waiting list. Currently it is looking like February will be the earliest start date but glad I found out about it and have gotten my name down.


Tomorrow I will be making up 6 wreaths to take with me for the Afterschool Christmas Fair, I might try to make more than that though in case I sell out and then I need some for an afternoon fair on Saturday.


No chance financially. Bank balance hasn't changed since yesterday. I did pop into Lidl on my way home today and spent a little more than I planned. They had some great winter Ski type childrens gloves so I bought them a pair each. (much needed) and I also picked up a couple of really lovely story books for Dd. Very cheap and I will add them to her Christmas present list.


Making Butternut squash soup for dinner as they were very cheap in Lidl.


Got no childrens clubs tonight so very much looking forward to putting my feet up.


Got abit of a tricky situation forming at the moment.
We give a good friend of mines son a lift to school and back every day. Him and my son have always gotten on very well and all was fine. Well since this boy went up to year 6 (he is 1 year older than my son) he has started acting very know-it-all and superior and has started distancing himself from my son.


Ds cam home upset today stating that this boy would not talk to him at school today and he doesn't think he wants to be his friend anymore. I have noticed that they have been growing apart these last few months but it seems to be coming to a head.

I would REALLY like to not be having to take this lad to school and back as I really feel like he is not keen on my son anymore but I also imagine his mum has said to just suck it up until next July and get the lifts to school and then he won't have to see my son anymore as he will have gone to Senior school.

I will wait to see if it blows over, but am feeling quite begrudging of giving him lifts when he obviously isn't that keen on my son anymore . Trouble is I really do not want to jeopardise my relationship with my friend over this.


Nothing that I can do really, but felt the need to vent. Sorry guys.


What would you do in this situation??
