But CPI is 2.1%. And CPI is calculated in accordance with the international standards that apply to this sort of thing, and is therefore the accepted measure of consumer inflation.grizzly1911 wrote: »... Inflation figures will vary from person to person as you well know at different times.
Indeed. But CPI remains at 2.1%. For every person whose 'personal' CPI is more than 2.1%, there must be another person whose 'personal' CPI is less than 2.1%.0 -

Kids are now at school longer. Until 17. That's removed a whole years worth of potential unemployed people from the stats.
That will play one small part in reducing unemployment, a part which was never included before.

I can't understand why you're being difficult all of a sudden.
We are trying to discuss the good news that unemployment is reducing and that employment is increasing. It would also be legitimate to express some cynicism as to the construction of the figures themselves. Whilst it is legitimate to throw in wild ideas which may or may not explain some of the change, it is totally unacceptable to start throwing facts and figures about.
Especially when those facts relate to a question that wasn't asked, even if they explain something. Even worse is to fail to answer questions that didn't exist in the first place because they were statements. Like "the point antrobus made regarding the differences in data."
Get a grip man. That's not an order. It's a question.
I have it on good authority that the unemployment figures are pure fake, hiding the real increase in unemployment solely because we hide them all in universities.0 -

CPI and RPI are whatever they want them to be.
I would truly love to see the hoards of people for whom CPI is less than 2.1%. They no doubt consume anything but the neccessities of life and then don't actually use them.
When they tire of CPI as a measure that tells them what they want they will create some other internationally recognised figure that does."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

There are probably similar numbers not working at retirement age as those not working at the start of working age."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Really - "independent" civil servants. The ONS a "wholly owned subsidiary" of what?
Next you will be telling me internet communications are safe, secure and private."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
