He/I bought this model when it was £10 cheaper at Argos than Vodafone.

In all likelihood, he/I hasn't removed the "content control" as he/I doesn't know what that is, or how to do it.
He/I has asked in the Vodafone shop, but they are not interested because I made the purchase elsewhere. They said their's (at the time was £10 dearer), but paying that extra, would have given me the chance of help, as I didn't, "no can do".
He/I, will venture to the Vodofone Forum and ask there, hopefully someone might extend the hand of friendship at this time of the year and lead this less then techie guy the way.
Huh!. he/I has joined the vodafone forum but despite searching, cannot find the "NEW POST" section.
YES YES YES< I have it. I have discovered it's NOT ME. many others find that they too are high-jacked into the Vodafone page and despite attempts to find a solution through the Vodafone Forum AS RECOMMENDED, they still have no other solution other than to bin the Vodafone sim card and purchase elsewhere. So, Mr NiftyDigits, thanks for your guidance it got me no-where. Read this:-

You neglected to answer the question of "Has he actually enabled the data package on the SIM?"
The solution is there, you just have to avail yourself of it.0 -
Would it be possible for someone to lend a hand and advise me how I enable a data package held on a sim being used in a mifi please. It seems a great many people have asked this question elsewhereand some have resorted to discarding the vodafone sim in preference of a Ovivo sim which they say, is straight forward.
For two hours I have plugged and unplugged my mifi to the laptop via usb, in the hope that a message will pop up and guide me to enable the package, to no avail.
Also, via All Programmes, I have clicked on Vodafone Mobile wifi and updater and still no success.
Clearly there must be a way, as NiftyDigits seem to know, but alas seemingly unless he is more forthcoming, my vodafone sim will also be discarded. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Here you are again lol, just joking. I cant help you with the mifi as much as everyone else but the Huawei Mifi I bought in the summer was easy to setup to use another sim, yes i had to unlock it but it was easy to do via ebay for 99p and just enter some settings and that was it.
I will also recommend an Ovivo sim, its easy to setup if you follow instructions on the Ovivo website.
OP you mentioned joining the smartphone brigade, the only question you would need to ask (if you decide to get a smartphone) is " can I tether using this Sim ?" But worry about this when the time comes.0 -
hope so.

1 If your using it to connect to the net while travelling on buses and high speed trains then get a smartphone unlocked and all 5 network sim cards on payg to test the network coverage.
2 If your going to get a smartphone then get a pay as you go one.
3 If your going to buy a MIFI box for normal use ie in a house then get a pay as u go one like the E5331 for about 50 but best to check coverage first.
4 You do know u have to turn on mifi box first then wait maybe 30 seconds then turn on the wifi on your tablet or pc.
5 You do know you have to enter a key code into a each device when you wifi connect it for the first time to the mifi box, the keycode should be on a card in the package box or maybe on bottom of mifi.Let them eat cake (Marie Antoinette 1765)0 -

It all seems so terribly complicated. You either set up an account online or call Vodafone, give them the long SIM card number that is written on the SIM and ask for it's status. If no package, then ask them to activate one.
Don't neglect to unlock the modem if you are thinking about using other SIM cards. No more than £2 via eBay.0
