Hi all
Hoppy Birdday Bargainbird - or should that be Hoppy Bargainbirdday?:rotfl::beer:
Rosyred I hope Lyla's tum is ok; it can be a nightmare dealing with rubbish-eaters; Cassie's one of the worst, she's a poo-eater.:eek:_pale_ Hopefully Lyla's young enough that you can train her out of it.:o
I notice several people mentioning James Martin - I'm afraid i have no idea who he is.:think:Fine and dry here. Really pleased because my delivery arrived early so I can work in the kitchen without worrying I'll miss the door. We have a really loud bell, but most delivery drivers prefer to bang on the door instead, which I don't hear as the house is long and if any of the machines are running I can't hear it.I was so exhausted after shopping yesterday my legs are so stiff and uncomfortable and my right hip is bad, as it always is in t he cold weather.
The bungalow seems very empty without the Hairy Hooligans; roll on Friday, when Lizzie arrives. Meantime today I have to do a loaf (BM is on as I type) and I've made a Shepherd Spy which will be tonight and tomorrow's dins - it's constructed, just have to cook it later. I need a meal I can just nuke tomorrow as we have Mr LW's pal visiting, so that fits the bill wonderfully.
I've also washed 2 pairs of Mr LW's cord trousers - though whether they'll dry outside remains to be seen.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I'm really interested in pre paring veggies, potatoes and mince pies to freeze etc. do people generally cook first or prepare cook and then freeze. Rosy do you cook your roasties completely?
Hi Julie- I cook them to lightly roasted,& starting to colour a bit, then cool & freeze on the tray.On the day I pop them back in the oven from frozen till nice and golden-dont ask me for times I just check now and againI'm sure theres a thread on it somewhere on here .
As for mince pies I freeze them cookedx

Afternoon all,
Happy Birthday Bargainbird. I hope you have a lovely day.:)
I did something rather brave this morning. I went to visit a member of the church I used to go to (and left about 10 years ago). I didn't leave in the best of circumstances to be honest, so it was difficult for me but her husband is very ill and I didn't want to shove the card through the door and run.
I'm glad I did.
I need to see my Auntie too but I'm not sure I can get through the security system fitted on her front door. I'll do it though sometime before Christmas day but I need to ring her first.
The phone hasn't stopped ringing and ive had so many messages.
Busy, I'm not but emotionally drained.
Probably chips tonight. Not sure what we're having with them though.... I'll get the inspiration (and the energy) to think later.

Happy Birthday bargain bird, I hope you have a great day x
Managed to get an emergency appointment at podiatry clinic yesterday and they dressed it and said that I have to go back next Monday to see how it is healing and that I must not do anything stupid like that again.......err yeah ok
Woke up this morning with a head full of cold and a throat full of sandpaper, DH took one look at me and sent me back to bed with a lemsip, kept coughing so I decided to get up. Not doing much today though I will just have a rest day, I still have lots to do but there is no need pushing my body when it just needs to rest, I don't want to be sick next week
It has been a lovely bright morning here but the sky is looking as black as Newgate's knocker outside
DD has a dentist appointment tomorrow which I will pay for because her old job haven't got back to her about her redundancy settlement yet
Hester, TTFM's DH, lonewhitewolf and all others who work in schools, I know what you mean my DH is a site agent, he too has cut back on the extras that he used to do, why should he when they want more and more work out of him for the pittance that he gets paid  .Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Woo-hoo, it's been like spring here today, I even managed to get my washing dry! It clouded over about an hour ago and now looks like midnight - oh well, I enjoyed it.
Somebody posted about using an argos voucher: thank you!!! I'd forgotten my online one but I've just ordered a (free delivery) pressure cooker which will be here in January.
Still waiting for Tesco delivery, the phone went & I thought it was the driver: No, DH's crown had fallen off yesterday and it was the dentist...... not that DH had said anything about it!
Oh well, back to waiting for the delivery, have a good evening!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Happy Birthday Bargainbird, enjoy the rest of your day
Tru - happy anniversary to you and mr tru0 -
I fell asleep for 2 hours this afternoon and ive woke up a bit brighter. Maybe it was the trip I made to my past, seeing the husband so very ill or maybe it was the fact I woke up at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep this morning.
