This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.
Morning all
Can't sleep, been up since 3 and I've finished all the quiet jobs so I've come online with a cuppa for a browse.
Hubby really enjoyed being Father Christmas yesterday, I must remember to take the costume back today.
Four more days at work, the head is getting the sort of staff he's always wanted, no camaraderie, dog eat dog & everyone is spending time watching for others to make mistakes that can be reported, what joy. Two more staff have found new jobs, but won't be giving their notice in just yet, they will wait until the last minute.
I received a really strange supermarket delivery y'day, 80 cans of lager, 60 pks of ready salted crisps, 2 packs of butter & a bottle of water, fortunately I got through to them pretty quickly & and got it sorted.
I'm taking my car to get the tracking done after work today, the car is pulling badly, the tyres are 'I hope' all ok, but I will get them to put air in whilst I'm there.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good morning everyone
Hester - your school sounds just like my DH's college. He has no idea what to do, would struggle to get a job anyway because of his age/position on the pay scale and is scared of jumping out of the frying pan into an even worse fire. He is so miserable and I can see it is exactly the same for you. I have no advice but offer sympathy, love and hugs
3 days to go here and suddenly "they" are finding very urgent work for us to do. Strange that we must finish all work satisfactorily or not get paid settlement agreement? Call me cynical? D**n right I am!
Better get going.
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Hi chums, dark and damp again here in Kent.
Had a lovely evening with the family last night as it was ben's 18th birthday. He got to choose whether we went out for a meal or had a take-away.He wanted a chinese take away and as I'm not keen on it I had a curry instead which was really nice.Bless him it seems strange to see him so grown up I can hardly beileve where the past 18 years have vanished to.DD had made him his favourite chocolate cake and we all had a really nice meal followed by some cake.
Today I have the coffee morning at U3A and tonight its pub quiz night so I shall be busy today.Mikey also wants to make his Mum a birthday card as its my youngest DDs birthday on Thursday.I'm far too imature to have a DD of 44:):),mind you my eldest is 46 which sounds even worse
:)
Its all birthdays this week eldest DDs pa-in-law is 83 tomorrow also my niece 's birthday as well.Must be a popular time for birthdays just before Christmas (beware the Mad March hare:):))
Right I'd better get a wriggle on as I have stacks to do this morning
have a good day everyone and keep wrapped up warm

Morning All
Hester. I know how you feel , i work in a school and after quite a lot of back stabbing i have decided to work to rule. I was one of those that always went the extra mile just to make sure everthing was running well, but not anymore. No more staying late or starting early just to help out, and with this week being the busiest week of the year it is going to be interesting.
Been finding that my eyes are getting worse this last month so will have to pop back to docs and see if the scarring has got any worse.
Must post my neices cards today (had to wait as she has just moved and didnt send me the address till last night).
Got to get the decs up in the lounge today as well.
Dinner tonight will be stew and dumplings in the slow cooker.
Anyway must get on got to at least look busy lol
Hugs to all in need xxBright Blessings xx0 -

Deep and crisp and even.

The Christmas cards are sat on the table waiting to be written. I keep thinking about doing them, but just can't seem to pick up a pen and get on with it

HH - Hang in there, not long till the end of term!
TTFTM - Can you do the work but not do it right? That would show them!
Happy Birthday Bargainbird! Enjoy your day at the BBC, I've heard that James Martin is as lovely as he appears.
Hugs to those not feeling so good or having a hard time.
Chap didn't arrive to sort the tv ariel so we still have no telly, hope he phones today. Friend did pop round though to see the house and have a natter so that was good. Spent my £10 Argoos voucher on a new toaster, only had to put £7 towards it. DD now very happy as the gas grill is a bit scary!
Another busy day at work looms but at least the time goes quicker, seems colder this morning too.
Have a good day, take care. XX0 -

Happy Birthday Bargainbird!
Hello everyone, just popping in as I'm getting ready for work. Had a nice day off yesterday, we went into town early, got everything we needed, popped to A*da for the last few bits and were home by 11.30!
I did all the washing, dried it and put it away. Also did some crafting - made a beaded net to go over a silver bauble on the tree. Looks lovely and was my first try at beading!
Also did lots of crocheting and started watching Tudor Monastery Farm from the start again! Last episode tomorrow night then the Christmas special on New Years Eve!
Hope everyone is well and has a good day :-) xxthe only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Morning all,
Happy Birthday to Bargainbird
HH and TTFTM I feel for you, nothing worse than sh*t at work!
It's still dark outside but I've been out to put the dustbins out and it feels quite mild. Looked at the weather and it isn't supposed to rain until 3.
I'm off to Chatham to try and get the rest (that means most!) of the Christmas shopping. I have at last got ideas in mind, I just hope I can find what I want. I am hoping Debenhams will come good.
Not sure what's for dinner tonight, quite possibly chicken curry.
Have a good day all.0
