Thanks Toryglen. I've been looking back and saw you were very helpful last year too! Agree with most of your answers - the mic one looks a little different from the one you've shown but really don't have a better suggestion!
Here's the link for last year, someone pointed out (last year)that there are similarities between the clues in 2011 and 12, page 4 of the thread I'm linking to has pics of both. The white boots are there. May be helpful. It's made me think the dog with mortar board is Pet School as that's presented by Ashley and Pudsey and they are pictured in the same spot in last years quiz.

Been comparing Dr Who clues from last three years, last years was a blue 3, makes me feel the 50 is probably Dr Who if they do have links between years. They've had a clock for The Hour twice in a row so reckon mic isn't that.0 -
Thank you Toryglen you've obviously spent some time on this one and it's great.
As a newbie here I would just like to offer up a couple of suggestions
1 ) the staircase relates to the programme 'Spiral'
2 ) the 50 I go with Dr Who being the 50th anniversary
3 ) the plane seems to have air ads written underneath think the One Show featured air ads planes for advertising banners??
Not sure what anyone else thinks ??0 -

You've listed Endeavour twice, KellyCurtis4, so you have the 50 clues. I think you're right on all 50.0

Just to mix it up a bit and just a suggestion - but it was the 50th anniversary of the Blue Peter badge in 2013 - http://www.rya.org.uk/newsevents/enewsletters/theclubroom/aug13/Pages/BBClaunchBluePeterSportsBadge.aspx
[STRIKE]Also, I'm not sure whether anyone has got anything for the red coat in the lower left window??
Re microphone - wasn't there a series early in the year about a news team back in the day - not sure whether it was set in 60s? [/STRIKE]
Sorry if this is no help.
Thanks everyone and Happy New Year! :jThanks all competition posters!!! 2015 Wins: A baby on the way!! Whiplash R/U Prize. Good Luck all!:)0 -

Very interesting red-foxx! :T I looked into this and found more info here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/latestnews/2013/day-of-the-doctor.html
"Blue Peter will launch an exciting new competition giving viewers aged between six and 14 the opportunity to design a new gadget that will become part of the iconic science fiction series. Two live Blue Peter specials will see presenters Barney, Lindsey and Radzi joined by aliens and monsters, with viewers challenging Matt Smith to answer their Doctor Who questions."
If we are to take the '50' in the blue circle as relating to Dr Who then we also need to narrow down the specific programme it relates to (per comp info in magazine - they are all specific 'shows' aired in 2013) which may in fact be the Blue Peter/Dr Who special?!
Linky: "The competition, which will be launched on the Doctor Who: Blue Peter Special on Thursday 21 November, is a must-see for all young Doctor Who fans. Viewers aged between six and 15 will be asked to design a new sonic device for either Sontaran Commander Strax, Madame Vastra or Jenny Flint and the winning gadgets will feature in the iconic science fiction series next year."
What does everyone think?
HTH (or maybe I'm thinking FAR too much into this one!)

But then wouldn't that be equally true for all the answers?
Which specific programme was it for Game of Thrones or Dragons Den etc.0 -

Very true :T - but I suppose GoT and DD can be easily classed as single series aired within the year 2013, whereas Dr Who could be either the actual series/Christmas Special or any of the various 'specials' aired individually to commemorate the 50th anniversary, including the one-off drama An Adventure in Time and Space...and the Blue Peter/Dr Who special :undecided
At the end of the day it will be down to individuals to decide which 'show' or 'series' they name when they enter the comp
I suppose I was just raising the issue of why 50 in white lettering on a blue circle (which is either significant to establish a link to a specific programme or....not!)

Thanks BC, I see your point, I think it's possible to get to a point where you can just overthink the obvious answer.
Think I'll just enter & forget.
Cheers.
