Thought about getting a "SureSignal" box: http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-accessories/sure-signal

That's what we did at work due to a poor Vodafone signal.

I have a Sure Signal box at home as my company uses Vodafone but I live in blackspot. I find that it works really well. However, I'm not sure how your work's IT people would like you plugging a Sure Signal box into their network.

If you need to be contactable for work then I'd suggest that your employer provide you with a mobile phone on a network that works at their office location.

Or use a landline at work. :)

the signal was fine for the 7-10 days after the upgrade - so i assumed everything was fine, but now its gone back to know coverage at all, not even 2G or anything since 8am this morning

    Hi Cblacklaw,

    I'm sorry to see this.

For further help with network related queries I'd initially recommend following the troubleshooting steps on our eForum which have been linked to here.

If you'd like to discuss your concerns further, could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?

Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. So I can make sure I've got it could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Kind regards,

If Vodafone provided coverage at the time you took out the contract where you intended to use the service, but later intermittently removed the coverage, then you could argue that it is failing to carry out the service with reasonable care and skill in breach of Section 13 of the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982. This would form a breach of contract.

Vodafone, don't really have control over the signal from their base stations, once it's been transmitted - all it need is someone to build a building, put up a crane or for some one to turn on some machinery that wasn't there before to completely change the service that you get - sometimes for the better but usually for the worse.

If you had an iffy service before then a new phone - even a £600 one won't make it better. Different providers use different base stations and different frequencies and you might just be unlucky and in a wireless hole. Over the years I've tried them all and generally for me Vodafone has been the most reliable and had the best coverage overall
