Vodafone Signal
Good Afternoon,
I am looking for advice. I started a new job in August and in those 4 months, signal has been lost roughly 10 times for inbetween 2-4 days.
As most people do, I spend 75% of my day at work and this is the prime time I need my phone and need to be contactable.
I have emailed the CEO several times reference this problems and have escalated this problem with the team there and spoken to loads of different people @ vodafone.
On the 4th of December I was told this had been fixed and I agreed to upgrade my phone.
Now the 16th Decmber the signal is back down again and I am not contactable or able to make calls or send texts or browse the internet.
This afternoon I spent 2hours plus on the webchat talking to different people who all they said was. Its your work address nothing we can do about it. :wall::wall::wall::wall:
I need peoples adivce, on what to do, i cannot keep paying for a service which 75% of the day 5 times a week is no more than an expensive brick on my desk.
Has anyone else had similar issues and how did they resolve it

Im not changing my job over a mobile phone, brilliant advice...
I cant changed my provider as I cant get out of my contract without payin £600
I just want to know if anyone had anything similar and how they overcame this and if they got out of their contract without paying the early termination fee0 -
People have got out of contract for lack of service at the contract address but i have not read of anybody getting out of contract for service at a work address. Also the service has not changed so you cant use that as leverage. At the end of the day it is your responsibility to choose a network provider that gives you adequate coverage at home/work not the provider that gives you the shiniest new phone.0

Thought about getting a "SureSignal" box: http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-accessories/sure-signal
That's what we did at work due to a poor Vodafone signal.0 -

just got a brand new phone so again your advice is shocking
I did look into the Sure Signal thing, but they want to charge me £100 to allow me to have signal.
In regards to the service has not changed that is true, but prior to my upgrade I was told that the problem causing the poor signal has been fixed and no more trouble hence my upgrade.0 -
Right, so you had a crap signal from vodafone and come upgrade time they promise its all going to be ok so you sign up with them again. What did you think they would say? 'Yes, sorry. Our coverage is crap. Thats just the way it is and we are not going to fix anything'. They ALL tell you what you want to hear. Since you upgraded i assume you got a nice new phone from them?
Either way my original comment stands. It is your responsibility to check coverage is adequate (especially since you knew in the first place it wasn't). You could have continued as before (you didnt need to upgrade) to confirm they had fixed the issue.0 -
the signal was fine for the 7-10 days after the upgrade - so i assumed everything was fine, but now its gone back to know coverage at all, not even 2G or anything since 8am this morning0

I use a sure signal in an area with no signal for most mobile operators. It is great and IMO worth the £100. If however you would rather look at your £600 brick or moan about the unfairness of life go ahead. Of course Vodafone should do better. This is, however, a practical and workable solution. If you whine at them enough they may give you a discount on the £100 but from bitter experience of this the shop or the webchat will tell you they can't discount it.0
