BTW, do you honestly believe all those people who say their ticket was blown over by the wind? I certainly do not.

I do. Parking machine tickets are often very flimsy and very easy to dislodge. Tickets with adhesive backs to aid affixing to a screen tend to be the exception rather than the norm these days. Thin, flimsy paper is cheaper than heavier or adhesive paper.

yes I do , too , I totally believe the posters referred to in post #31 are not lying, unlike what you and you alone infer here

given your career with the diplomatic service you dont appear very diplomatic on here , partly because you see a forum as a means to attack other members posts instead of dealing with the original issues (trolling), you skim read threads and dont get the info right , you tell posters on ancient threads what to do without looking at the dates or relevance

stick to dealing with the issues being written about instead of second guessing if the OP wishes to go to court or if the OP is telling lies or not, none of that is your concern yet you seem very quick to jump to illogical conclusions

if you do not stop making comments about other members here or about their replies you leave yourself wide open to having comments made about you, like how you hide in your ivory tower behind your keyboard telling everybody on here to go to court yet you offer little or no advice about that subject nor do you actually offer to help those people with your help or presence before and during court never mind helping them to avoid court

either start practising what you preach or stick to answer relevant points and not on ancient threads like you have done recently, otherwise the comments will be about you seeing as you are so free with your opinions instead of diplomatically keeping ones trap closed !

I would hardly call August 2013 an ancient thread. However, please feel free to find other, older, threads to which I have replied.

I am as it happens campaigning to get UKPC dismissed from an HA complex and advising tenants who have suffered at their hands how to beat them.

I am afraid that that, having been exposed to the seamier side of life, i.e. wifebeaters, child abusers, addicts and criminals, I am less inclined to believe my fellow man's veracity than do some. In my experience it is a jungle out there, not some pink fluffy nirvana.

just stick to dealing with the facts put forward by the posters and helping the poster achieve what they want and not what you personally want is all I want

comments about myself or my comments are not constructive and not etiquette on forums because you then focus on the people and their replies instead of focusing on the wishes of the OP

I have no wish to troll your posts or to pick them apart unlike you who seems to take great delight in picking through replies (trolling) and trying to be "clever" about it in the process and naming names when you make replies

so take the diplomatic route seeing as it was your professional job and either dont reply or give replies based on what was written that help the person who posted and not criticising those who have tried to help the poster free of charge and with no ulterior motives like I did previously on page one

I believe you have a property at this complex and that is the only reason you are involved there, had you lived somewhere else then I doubt you would be helping this particular HA

whilst I applaud your decision after today to help out others in the Reading area it seems you may be doing this to try to patronise and belittle my answers instead of being genuine, it doesnt help that yet again you have used my name in vain once more in that thread too, proving that you are making these issues about the members here and not the issues those members bring to this forum

name dropping is not helping and its that part I object to most strongly , so you should be removing my membership name and sticking to doing this gesture of goodwill in a more altruistic fashion

its exactly that patronising , sexist and condescending attitude that is offensive on forums like these, never mind the fact that you ignored the fact that this person hasnt mentioned they want court in this thread and also the fact that you have inferred they are a liar or somebody else is

But you have completely missed my point. What I want is to put PPOCs out of business.

Giving people a get out of jail card at Popla will do nothing to curb their greed. They need to be taken to court and shown the error of their ways.

This is a consumer orientated site, we should be encouraging consumers to fight for their rights, exposing scams and sharp practices, do you think that the PPCs give a damn if they lose a few Popla appeals, it is the decisions in the County Court which damage them. Do try to see the bigger picture.

I have no problem with that bigger picture and I definitely did not miss your point about it because its obvious to anyone on here who knows about this topic, its also obvious to KIFL and bargepole and biker paul and parking prankster who are prepared to do so themselves and help others fight in court too

but if that is your particular bandwagon then use your own threads for it instead of putting pressure on each and every poster to go to court when it may be impractical or scary for them to do so

this isnt about YOU or what YOU want , its about the poster who opened the thread , that is my point and the one YOU missed !

you also missed MY POINT about stopping using members names in your replies and taking threads off topic

The fact that this is a consumer site also means that the advice has to be the best for those who use it. Most just want to get out of paying money to the PPC's. POPLA is the easiest and cheapest route with the least amount of stress. If someone came on here and specifically stated that they wanted their day in court then fine, but this OP has in no way said or even implied that.

Also, knowledge of how easy it is to win at POPLA will increase. If 100% of PCN's were appealed to POPLA then this would very easily drive the PPC's out of business, or make them actually comply with the law.

Patronising and condescending certainly, intentionally so, you come across as a prig. Sexist no, unless you are one of those dreadful people who takes offence on behalf of others.

As for your suggestion that I implied duplicity on the part of the OP, that is an unfounded slur, read the thread again and then, hopefully, you will apologise, (but I am not holding my breath).
