    I do exactly the same. Using own brand flour gets the cost right down. It is around 47p a loaf. You have to add sugar and yeast which pushes the cost up a bit.

    I do not use a bread maker just mix in my Kenwood and put in bread tins.
    It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.
