    Mortgage-free Glee!
Just popped back to say engineer's been and replaced the hinge (told me hoover door hinges aren't that strong!) machine now working hard and I'm nearly £60 poorer - but I guess that's loads less than a new WM anyway. And call from DH who may need collecting earlier than he thought from the station as course should finish a bit sooner than expected. Asked if he wanted to see kids as is in London, but apparently the underground is terrible today and so he won't have time. maybe just as well I'm not up there myself as it turns out!
Ah well, better do something like sorting paperwork and making bread! Take care!

    Hi!
I had a (sort of) lie-in this morning. DH took DD1 to orchestra and DD2 played on the computer so I lay in bed reading for a while, which was nice.
DH has taken the girls to his mum's for tea and I'm supposed to be completing my threshold application form. I've been putting off applying for it for the past 6 years as I only actually get half of it as I work part-time and I hate filling in application forms...life is too short!
The weather here is grey so the washing is all over the house again. I've hoovered around and I need to look in the cupboards, make a meal plan and write a shopping list.
I'm looking forward to watching Dr Who tonight but it will be weird watching it on my own...I might have to hide behind a cushion instead of behind DD2!
Right I'm off to fill in the longest form in the world!

    Good afternoon everyone
Just taking a break from all my chores to pop on and say hello.
Hugs to JackieO, PP & Lorenzo.
I was given a really useful table yesterday, it's long & narrow & I will be able to fit my sewingmachine & overlocker on it side by side, only one problem, I have no room for it!!! I think I will cover it in a tarp & keep it in the garden for the next 4 weeks, until the lodgers have gone & then move the furniture around so it will fit.
Best get on, still loads of housework to do.
    Hugs to all

Afternoon everyone ((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))) to those who need one...................

Awake just after 8am and off the the allotment at the back of nine, made some ham sarnies and took apples and a couple of flasks for tea, have just got back. We have now picked almost 20lbs of straws......I dug over another bit, but could not do anymore, the ground was too heavy and my back was killing me..........went on to weed most of the beds, planted a couple of herbs from the herb wheel into the new herb bed, we had our lunch and then ploughed on with a few more jobs, I picked some rhubarb which I have just cooked in the romuska, so rhubarb, strawberry and goodberry crumble for supper tomorrow.....tonight I an vassilating between fish and chips and fish and salad.............have a feeling salad might win. I also put up the hook for the hanging basket, the fuschia thats in it is just about out, so thought it was time it was put up...............The celariac I bought from France is going great guns, have not lost any of them..........they store quite well, so should keep us going in celariac mash through the winter yummy...........

I am a bit miffed all this digging does not seem to be doing anything towards me loosing weight, I thought digging was one of the things that burns up lots of calories????????????some one should tell my metabolic rate, it doesn't seem to be doing any good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH was not too well last night, moaning he felt sick, so sent him to bed.....an hour later he was in the living room complaining he was thirsty....there are times he drives me seriously nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had a cuppa and a naughty doughnut......delic................

The bath rack I ordered arrived yesterday, had to get it online, could not find one locally, costs me £12 including postage, our bath is quite narrow and it fits wonderfully...........so now I can dry the bath mat properly.........we are gradually getting things how we want them, its taking time, but suppose thats life.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    Afternoon all,

Overcast here so far to-day, with misty rain as a variation every so often!

No dinner to cook today as we are off out to-night...soup and chicken sandwich left over from yesterday was fine for OH and me, DD2 and DGD1 have gone to visit a friend who has a five week old baby...I dropped them off as its off the beaten track a bit, so that was almost 3 hours including the coffee and chat...baby is lovely but so tiny, only weighed around five and a half pounds at birth.

JackieO...keep up the positive thinking, I know that a week can seem when you are not sure what result is going to be. Thinking of you.

Kyle...glad that LO is improving. Hugs to anyone else in need.

Haven't yet decided what to pack for Holland...I am a minimalist packer but also need to cover myself for heat and cold...layers I suppose.

Nothing planned for to-morrow except a lie-in...if anyone wakens me I will probably commit murder.

    Have a good weekend everyone

Hello everyone! We got home on Thursday but am only just catching up with everything.

((((HUGS)))) to JackieO, Catznine and anyone else who needs one.

Kyle - so sorry to hear that LO has had an accident while I've been away, glad he is on the mend!

Mioliere - I wasn't sure when you were due back, but I see you already are and have evidently had a good time! Would love to see some wedding photos.

Pink-winged - glad to hear you are going on holiday! Your DD will be fine. We left our DD1 at home on her own for the first time when she was 17 - she always absolutely hated going away from home, and refused to come. She was quite all right, though of course she was very glad to see us safely home again. Whereabouts in France are you going?

Thriftlady - I'm loving your Wartime Ration Experiment thread! Hope all still going well and that you're enjoying the challenge.

We had a good time in Normandy, though it rained every day for the first week - it was the third time we'd been to the same place, so we'd already been to all the indoor attractions that interested us, but we took plenty of books and a small TV so we could watch DVDs, so we were occupied until the sun came out again! We did feel sorry for the Children's Couriers though - one morning we saw two of them with a group of littlies, and the Camping Life courier in particular looked desperate - she had "What on earth am I going to do with them tomorrow if it's still raining?" written all over her face. If we can afford to go there again next year, we're thinking of spending part of the time at the same site (in North Normandy, near the D-Day beaches) and part of it further along into Brittany, so we can visit a few places we've always been too far from, like Mont-St-Michel. (I don't think we could manage to get up to the top, but at least we could see it!:p )

Sadly we lost our other cat while we were away; she had kidney tumours and DS ended up having to have her put to sleep. The vet had given her an anabolic steroid injection, but it was too late to do any good. It's the first time in the 23 years we've lived here that we've been catless - it feels very odd, especially when I'm dishing up chicken and there are no eager little furry faces asking for titbits! We will miss them, but may have cats again at a later date. In the meantime it is rather nice not having to sort out the litter tray etc, and knowing that when I hoover the floor it'll stay hoovered IYSWIM.

Went to the butcher this morning to get some of his lovely HM beefburgers and some mince, and ended up buying a small beef joint too because it looked so nice. We haven't had roast beef for ages, we'd been buying our meat from the supermarket until we discovered how good this butcher's meat was, and the supermarket beef was so dear and always a bit disappointing. Got some of his HM sausages too, to try. We've been buying Rook's Sausages (a Kent firm - our local ASDA sells them) for some time, but these were the same price so I hope they'll be as good. They've got mushrooms in them!

Went into the Co-Op for some potatoes, and found they had double cream on offer for half-price - no idea yet what I'll use it for but I wasn't going to miss an opportunity like that:D

I've caught up on the washing we brought back - I did one load while we were there, so there wasn't too much - and washed one load of bath towels and one of kitchen towels and tea towels - managed to get the kitchen ones dry on the line, but the bath towels had to go in the TD:o - still, at least they'll be nice and soft.

Better go now, as this has taken so long to type that there will be several more posts for me to read!

Well, have read nothing but I think (hope) I have thanked you all. Had a lovely day getting my hair done - a great treat as I just love me time. Not spoken to DD today but no phone call! Have had a cuddle with comfort toy we bought for No 3 a few weeks ago (GB has to have duplicates here for when they stay over)! Just wish this was over (as I am sure my darling DD does). I am very agitated and can't concentrate on anything! Less than two weeks to due date and she has had two early babies! Also false alarm last weekend did not help.

Weather here pretty dire by the way!

    Love to all
