Good Morning everyone ,thank you for all your good wishes yesterday.Well I had two biopsies as there is a nasty looking white mass that showed up on the ultra sound machine plus my Lymph glands are enlarged  . I have to go back on the 3rd July to get the results ,at the moment I am trying to keep hopeful .My eldest DD has been brilliant and came with me .She is obviously worried, as is my youngest DD but I keep trying to tell them the sooner things are detected the better it is .Apparently there was this mass three years ago, but it was so small they decided it was O.K. but now it has trebled in size it seems that the Dr.s are a bit more concered. My lymph glands being enlarged apparently could be down to the fact I have osteo-arthritis and it sometimes has that effect. But I have my fingers and toes crossed, and am keeping optomistic as possible.
Went to youngest DD for dinner last night and after she had a bit of a 'bubble' I told her that it wasn't helping and I am made of stronger stuff .I had Ovarian cancer in 1982 and it didn't get me then, and it's not going to get me now. Positive thinking is what I am doing at the moment .
I feel a bit black and blue this morning as having the biopsies were a bit uncomfortable (imagine being jolted in the boobs with a staple gun) but I'm sure there are lots worse things happen at sea.
This morning I have a couple coming from Maidstone to give me a price on the rendering to the front of my house .It is a husband and wife team who did my DD's house .Apparently the wife used to work in the city in an office ,and got so fed up commuting that she joined her plasterer husband and they work together .When she phoned last night she said 'Hello this is Pauline the plasterer' which is quite a conversation stopper at parties I bet ,but she was very nice and I have seen their work so I will probably get my house rendered .:j I have to go to Hempstead Valley this afternoon to pick up my gds birthday present .She is having her room redecorated in Chocolate and Blue and wants new duvet covers. Argos are doing a set with a BOGOF for £11.99 so I shall get her those, plus a c.d. and a very large spiral notebook which my DD says all the girls her age (14) are into at the moment
I have already made her her birthday card .She is always texting, so I made that a theme on her card.Might get a squashy cake and take it into eldest DD's on the way home as I pass her house ,not good for her diet, but she was a good lass yester day and kept me cheerful.
Tomorrow I am going to youngest DDs for sunday dinner, and a cut-throat game of Ludo with the boys. My youngest grandson has got his starting date for school 10th September I shall miss him dreadfully ,as will my DD she has had a little one around for the past 14 years (she has 4 boys and a girl)it will seem strange not to have a toddler around the house. Still they all have to grow up at sometime.
The weather here in North kent doesn't look too promising at all and I have a line of washing to go out. Still it may get a bit of a blow . <<hugs>> to all those who are feeling blue andbig smiles to the rest of you.Thank again for all your good thoughts:A

Hi
well yesterday went ok, the worst part for me was seeing him being given the anesthetic (sp) and then going limp in my arms but it went well, they think his cast will come off in 2 weeks:j it had moved a bit but they managed to fix it.
When he came to, he cried nonstop for over an hour, the aftereffects and the fact he was feeling a bit scared.
Had his lunch then went on the rampage basically:rotfl: from about 12.15 to 3pm all he did was wander about the ward, closing doors, trying to go into rooms, he wouldnt stay in the playroom at all! my feet are killing me today.
Was so glad to be home with him:j
Bought ds1's birthday present last night on ebay, got him a nintendo ds and 3 games, hope he likes it then!
jackie0 sorry must have missed u were getting a biopsy yesterday, hope everything will be ok for u, thinking of u, hugs

Morning everyone
<<JackieO>> Thinking of you.
<Kyle>It'll be fine.
Off to Ipswich today to see DSD. We're taking a garden table and chairs over for them. It's a bit of a trog (2 and a half hours each way), so not the best way to spend a Saturday...but it will be lovely to see her and her family.
Don't think we'll have time for anything else today.
<Hugs> to anyone else who'd like one or needs one. I'll be back this evening to catch up on the rest of the news.

Morning all!
Up a bit earlier than planned - some delightful neighbour decided that 7am on a Saturday is ideal for a spot of loud banging:mad: Shouldn't complain - we never usually have problems.
Anyway, looking a bit rubbish here weatherwise but my bike is due for its MOT today so have to toddle into Cambridge anyway. Got £20 of book tokens to spend as well so may see if I can find something I like:T Unfortunately one of my pairs of jeans has developed a hole in an *ahem* sensitive place and I really resent having to fork out for a new pair. They are my favourite pair as well - I bought them when I was in NY last year:rolleyes:
Anyway, have a good day and hugs to anyone who needs them!0 -
hope you managed to get some rest donny-gal
sounds like you had a great day at Goodwood AMIE399
hope the weather holds out for your BBQ N9eav
Groatiequeen - thanks for the tip about unplugging the computer in an electrical storm - didnt know that and am now wondering if that could be the problem with my telephones not working.
Glad to hear LOrenzo was alright yesterday Kyle
fingers crossed everything is alright JackieO
((((Penny-Pincher!!)))) sounds like you had great MSE time in Bluewater
Well I am having a bit of a lazy morningstill in my dressing gown and havent seen or heard DD yet. DDog is curled up next to my feet fast asleep though.
Weather this weekend isnt supposed to be very good so hopefully that will force me into doing a bit more sorting out at home. I need to do a car boot sale but this weekend is out and so is next but it would be nice to at least get a bit of stuff sorted though.
I have a bit of left over cooked chicken frozen which is going to be magically turned into Chicken Supreme for dinner tonight. Will be making some soup for lunch
No car this weekend so I am going to have to work out which bus stop I need to stand at for a bus into townand apart from that I will be getting about on my bike ( weather permitting )
Have a lovely weekend everybody and (((HUGS))) to those who need them. Im going to have a proper read of the thread now. Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -

:hello: Morning!
Wow PP you did well on the free samples! Last week I got a free paring knife and a thingy you stick in an orange or lemon to get some juice out and leaving it in it keeps the fruit fresh in the fridge iykwim - all I had to do was to listen to a demonstration on kitchen knives (and avoid the temptation to buy some;) ) but very rare to get any samples around here.
Yesterday we went to Costco for our 4 monthly shop :j and stocked up on extra virgin olive oil, lee and perrins, salmon, tuna, prawns, smoked undyed haddock, chicken, sausages, coffee, danish pastries (for dh:rolleyes: ) lemon juice, rice, mango chutney, bagels, washing tablets, peppers, garlic (enough to supply family and whole street!) loo rolls, dettox, harpic, dw cleaner, cat lit, mouthwash etc The wolves are backing away from the door as I type:D spent £200 on foodstuffs/cleaning supplies/petcare so have to save £50 a month for this, (which will be added to my grocery challenge total). Dh bought me some lovely melamine stacking mixing bowls with rubber grips on the bases, which I love (sad I know) but I can't manage my heavy earthenware ones anymore and the tupperware ones are too light and unstable so these are (as goldilocks said;) ) just right and in fab colours too!
Wanted to send (((hugs))) to JackieO for being so very brave and setting us all such a great example. i am still awaiting my results and find keeping busy and staying positive helps enormously.
((((hugs))) also to LO, to PP and family and to anyone else that needs a hug today.
Off to make some cards as friend has a special (50) birthday and a couple I know are celebrating 40 years of wedded bliss!
Wishing you all a lovely Saturday

Morning all
Grey and overcast here this morning - but no rain - yet.
Jackio - Fingers crossed for you for your results - I'm with you on the positive thinking.
Kyle - Glad LO is ok. Hope DS likes his birthday pressie.
Hugs to the rest in need.
DD2 wasn't well again last night - raging sore throat and all her glands were up - high temp - shivering etc - she seems to have it for a day and then it goes for a few but leaves her shattered - she's off to the clinic today, I'm wondering if maybe it's glandular fever? My mum has suffered from it on and off for years.
Managed to book a last minute hair cut for this afternoon - going to have it chopped as short as I dare, I can never seem to get it past my shoulders before I get hacked off with it.
Mr T's delivered last night so that's saved a trip there today - was very impressed with the quality of everything too.
Cottage pie for tea - made a large one for last night but only half got eaten, saves cooking again.
Off to run a hoover round and do an hours ironing whilst DH is at work.
Hope you all have a great weekend."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
