Peel Centre Stockport parking ticket

Options
Hi all

I know that many issues in the past have arisen with this lot!

I am sure my problem has happened before...... I went their with my partner and kids a few months ago. My partner jumped out to buy the ticket. Turns out she got a digit or 2 mixed up (well it's not her car is it!)
Anyway the obvious has happened and the letter arrived saying we didn't pay. Now the ticket was obviously my reg number but just muddled a tad. We kept ticket, sent back a photocopy etc etc and thought no more about it. All the times matched etc and it's clear we paid and that the it was a little error in the typing.

Seems it's not good enough for them and I have had another letter with 3 choices. One of which is an appeal, one asking for clarification of driver etc

I still have original ticket and know that if it went to court any right minded person with eyes would be able to see that we paid that day

Any advise on what to do next to get these Parking Nazis off my back would be appreciated though

Happy Xmas MM

See the Newbies sticky by coupon mad.

But in a nutshell, did you appeal as such? If you did, did they reply with POPLA code?

If they didn't then irrespective of dates you need one. Please supply relevant dates of event and letters as well as what you actually said to them.

Then we will see about getting a POPLA code.

Also what does their letter actually say?

Why not just search this forum for 'Peel'? Hundreds of threads will come up. Appealing and winning against this scam is covered hundreds of times in 2013.

Surely your 3rd choice in the letter is the obvious 'appeal to POPLA' and so you just need to read the newbies thread again...I would hope that a new poster would have read a sticky saying 'newbies read this first!' before posting? The sticky threads have all you need to know to win at POPLA, tons of successes in the 'POPLA decisions' thread as well.

You must get on with making sure they reject your appeal and issue you with a POPLA code. If you delay they will inevitably come back with an 'out of time, tough luck' message, while not insurmountable, it will give you an extra layer(s) of hassle to deal with (and as you seem pretty naive about this stuff, will also involve us with providing more advice than we need to) - so please get on with things.

But if you look at page one what do you see as the first threads:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

...they all have 'STICKY' written next to the titles and were there when you first posted. Redx explained, please read the ''NEWBIES READ THIS FIRST'' thread.

It's saying that the responsibility of the PCN lies with the driver of the vehicle. The full name of driver is not made clear so we are at present unable to process your representations for this reason.
    OPTIONS:
1 Confirm FULL NAME AND ADDRESS OF DRIVER
    2 PAY THE PCN :)
    3 Right to appeal (POPLA)

This letter was sent to the house my partner moved out from. It's dated 29 Nov!

Any help (but no spankings for forum uselessness please) would be very much appreciated

You need to read the Newbies thread, sorry we can't reply to the basic stuff a hundred times a day which is why I wrote it. There's a link called 'How to win at POPLA' in the newbies thread...and the forum will work so much better for you if you can nip around it a bit.

Dare I just briefly post that it seems from your OP as if you are saying you have a POPLA code (the '3 choices' you mentioned) but it's not clear...despite all this stuff posted above, I still want you to win at POPLA against the scammers.

Oh good. Let's move on and forget what's gone before then :T

So my position is now that I have a Liability Notice dated 16/12/13. I was too late with my appeal letter !

    They now want £100

They have my name, but are sending the letters to my old address, which is why I have been getting all the letters late

I will never pay them! Even if it ends up in court, because as I have said... we did buy a ticket and still have that, it just had a few wrong digits in it due to my partner putting in wrong ones. It's obvious it's my Reg' number though and all the times match etc. Any court would throw it out, but avoiding this hassle would be preferable

So any help as to what to do next would be appreciated

    Matty
