I'm sure this is a waste of a post, but I'm surprised you don't have to contact employers through the likes of linkedin..?
You can only do that if you pay for membership!

Anyone noticed that Jobs on Job websites have gone a bit quite?

I don't know if its something to do with Christmas coming up but yesterday it was the 1st time I haven't applied for any Job as I always apply for jobs everyday.

Yesterday was nothing on at all on every Job websites, most of the Jobs posted yesterday I already applied for them. :(
Yes a lot of people wont look to leave their company till after they have had the Xmas party, got their bonus and whatever.

Hence less jobs on the net at this time of year.

OP It's the traditional time of year where jobseeking does take a bit of a back seat. There aren't many places advertising or actually taking on this side of christmas.

OP if you don't want forum members to seem like jobcentre advisers then stop posting I'm afraid they will start asking all sorts of questions.

I personally don't see why a comment about a slump in the job market just before xmas gives people the right to suddenly grill the poster about his job seeking activity.

Was just 1 person who grilled the OP, was hardly a grilling. Didnt see a problem with what was said, there could have been something the OP hadnt thoguht of doing.

Probably because, at least in my eyes, this particular poster comes across as either a troll, or ignores all advice based posts to become more employable/accuses people of being homophobic, only responding to those they don't agree with. Given I grew up with the internet, if I had to guess, I would say the OPs reactions and mannerisms are that of an internet troll.

Some of their posts are beyond ridiculous in my eyes, like asking people to find employers for them. Too many excuses and too little proactivity.

It was a grilling and then unasked for advice. Maybe I am just being naive but -from what I can gather - the OP is long-term unemployed so probably has a fair idea on how to look for jobs already.

Having said that - intrigued by the LinkedIn comment. I am not unemployed but am looking for new opportunities right now. I have never used it - kind of thought it was something akin to facebook. I am guessing not now though so am off to take a look.
