Help! Blue screen!!

I've just booted my computer up twice and both time the blue screen appeared within a couple of minutes...please can anyone help I can't afford to have to get it repaired this close to Christmas!! Thanks x

Have you tried booting in safe mode?
Usually press F8 at boot up until screen appears to give you the option for safe mode.0 -
I'm on my third attempt of not being in safe mode and so far, so good.0

It's a Dell computer with Windows XP. Not sure how I find out any specifics, sorry.0

Model number is usually badged on the front or on a label on the back ...
Most Dell PC's have a set of 4 diagnostic lights on the rear panel, what are they doing at boot up?

No, I haven't put rapport back on. The blue screen hasn't appeared since yesterday...just worried in case it comes back
