I managed to get one of the £1 rooms for August - brilliant. Only snag was I needed an extra bed in the room for my son to use and the booking process added an extra £15 automatically. One quick e-mail to the hotel and they have waived the excess -
"Congratulations on being one of the lucky few to get a £1 room during our summer sale!
I am writing to inform you that at the time of booking you requested a room which could accommodate two adults and a child, normally we would charge an additional £15 (common to most hotels). However we actually think that is quite mean given that you only paid £1 for 2 adults. On that basis we are only going to charge you for the 2 adults".
Now thats good customer service!
