Not arguing re the rights or wrongs of any breach, and obviously don't know the sums involved, but aren't they entitled to use a CRA to confirm someone's identity for with respect to money laundering regulations?0

From what i have understood from the case handler. there should of been no reason for this employee to go CRA in this instance to do the checks as i had provided them with all the relevent info. also the fact they did not verify the details during the approval process was apparently another mistake.
I am sure identity checks do happen, and i understand there is room for human error, and i also understand i maybe over exaggerating my emotions. but this is how i felt.
but the same thing keeps coming to my mind, why was this not picked up, surely there must of been some approval processes in which checks are done before authorisation.0 -
Well put it out of your mind now. You have been well recompensed and to worry about this further will put you in an early grave.
Cheer up, it's nearly Christmas and Father Christmas has called early at your house... £450 ... ding-dong!0 -

I was not applying for credit, nor was borrowing anything from them for them to go into my credit report.
Hi there,
Been reading this thread over a few days; I worked in a building society for around a year and a half, and I made a mistake and sent a passbook out to the wrong address (complete human error). This was then taken to a hearing and resulted in a written warning. I ended up getting signed off work with stress & anxiety and everyone around me suffered. I was lucky I kept my job.
Please think of this...as I have been through it myself.
Human error has occoured. There is no financial loss. Take the compensation and move on....
thats all you can do....

Relevant info doesn't override the need for CRA check, my credit profile is full of checks, as a company director every financial transaction results in a check
Didn't you say in your first post that they had found an old account of yours? I recently opened an account with santander with no id , I've never banked with them , but must have some sort of account with someone they have bought outVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
