I personally would use a device like this for a wireless connection. The reason is that the range of TV's you can chose from will be far greater if inbuilt wifi isn't an absolute must. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. someone has already mentioned it above but my choice would be any HD freeview tv to your size specification and a Now TV box or roku (if you want to spend the extra and have more channels)> The box can be attached to the back of the tv so out of the way and no cables seen.
The only downside I can see to this is you will have to control with two remotes (tv and box). And no itv player, however I may be corrected but I don't believe this is available on all makes of smart tvs either?
This option will probably work out cheaper for you, especially if you go for the Now tv box, you could always upgrade to a roku later when funds allow.
What tv do you have at the monent in the space? could you just add a now tv/roku box to it, to make it smart? that would be very MSE0 -

Currently have an old LCD TV that weighs around 20kg and is quite deep so it sits on a coffee table. It has no freeview, so the freeview box sits on the floor.
The freeview box has some issues with sync of sound & vision, so it needs replacing. We'd like a slim tv on the wall, rather than sitting on a table, and we've been given £300 as a Christmas present by my dad.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Well, to answer anyone who might still be interested, I've ordered a 29" LG with built in wifi & freeview HD for £229 from Currys, and a wall mount off fleabay for £81. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Yes, that's why I didn't go for a full HD display. The physical size limit still applied - no way of moving a wall to make more room, so 29" fits. My computer monitor is only slightly smaller too, but it is in a different room, and servers a different purpose..1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
