i have 2900 Vodafone shares. i haven't worked out what, at current prices, i am set to receive in Verizon Shares and Cash.

now my 2900 Vodafone shares, which cost £5k, have become:
    1581 Vodafone shares, worth £3826.02
    76 Verizon shares, worth £2153.11
    Cash worth £859.27

is that right? i didnt realise the Verizon shares would be worth as much as that:think:
  • verizon is linked to the iphone sucess in usa, it was or is a big deal. voda had almost 50% so its a big market for lil ole uk company.
of course its a global company but most countries dont spend like usa does, I think voda is still big in germany and india.

[India is a nightmare of political quagmire and government interference and Germany is a nation declining, their biggest growth is immigrants]

Personally Im pessimistic but ive been wrong so far. I hold south american telecoms, not sure who is best for asia though apple itself just got a contract to deploy their phones in china but not the calls obviously

Sold my Verizon allocation today. Won't add to it so is too small retain in the longer term.

i'm not quite sure to make of the 'Cash'.. it shows as a 'holding'. are we waiting for the cash to be released, and at that point it will just become available funds?

Yes, it's not scheduled to be paid by Vodafone until March 4. I think brokers are just showing it now to avoid confusion over missing value, but it hasn't yet been paid.
This is everybody's fault but mine.
