The entertaimnent was very good i thought, my daughter loved it, there was a juggler on one night and he was excellent.
One thing i notice is that Pontins dont try and milk money out of the kids like Haven do, they were letting everybody get photos with the characters for free every night, every Haven ive been to they do a conga round the venue getting the kids to join in at at the finish is at the on site photographer who charges to take photos , blummin discraceful :mad:0 -

Camber was so much better I thought. I was in 147 which was the furthest away from everything - awfully dirty!
I know it was free holiday but entertainment in evenings was a big let down, the kids characters only came out for about 5 mins in total a night - which was what my daughter was most looking forward too. I am so glad I never paid!
we went to hemsby a month ago and it was fine,
and i imagine you were the furthest away from everything because you paid nothing to be there!
we got a chalet almost opposite reception... but then we were paying guests (still manage to pay less than most there thanks to being regular pontins customers but fully paid up none the less)
I cant comment on the dirt, but we didnt see any
i dont think your comments about the entertainment are very fair, just because there wasnt more of what you wanted to see??
id like to see Robbie williams doing a slow strip... but it aint gonna happen :rotfl:
we paid attention to the daily list of things happening and spent plenty of time with all the characters, and then danced along with them in the evenings,
and the blue coats danced thier butts off and played with the kids everynight
before the caberet started, ok shoddy magicians and club singer boy bands may not be your cup of tea but thats personal choice... you cant say it was bad though
you cant please everyone i guess.... :rolleyes:0 -

Thats where we stayed dead opposite the reception, ony a 10 second walk to the facilities, No.615 was our chalet0 -
we went to camber sands last week mon - fri - really good time - can't complain about the apartment - room 433 - as we didn't pay but the bathroom could have been cleaner and there was No shower but the rest was fine. had a really good day in france - kids loved the big boat. loads for the kids to do - go karting, quad biking, rifle shooting etc all for free. We thought the entertainment in the evening was great too. The beach was lovely also.
Thank you very much op - we had a holiday which we wouldn't have had otherwise:beer:0 -

My comments were fair about the entertainment - my 5 year old daughter was really disappointed that she only seen each character for about 2 - 3 minutes. I went to Camber Sands last year and we had a much nicer time (entertainment better) than Hemsby. There was no opportunity to meet characters and we were told that we could not join any clubs as you had to sign up for them the day before and then they were all gone. With regards to it being a free holiday - yes it was free - but many people who were there had paid and if I had paid then I would not have been happy. I went to Butlins and Park Resorts earlier in the year and they both had character shows on in the evening, not just a character coming out on stage for 3 mins to dance to a song and go! If I say something you like....Please hit the thanks button :beer:0 -

There was when i was there, my daughter met/cuddled and got pictures with Zena, Barney & Croc.
A character made an appearance twice a day in the Ponteenies Adventureland , and it said in the leaflet who was there on what day/time.
The character shows werent as good as Haven i admit but they were OK, and my daught was happy and thats the main thing.0 -
not a free holiday but just thought i'd mention we were at butlins last week on a sun holiday. total cost was £127 for a chalet for 4 people, we stayed for 3 nights.
i've never been to butlins before and it was fantastic. my little boy is at that age where a person in a fluffy suit is fascinating and he loved getting his pic taken with the characters and dancing to the bob the builder shows etc. there was a photographer taking official pics with characters but you could take your own at the same time. my mum couldn't resist the official pics with pingu but with the others we just had our own photos.
if the entertainment is important to you you could always try a butlins next time. we had one nice day on the beach but the weather was terrible for the rest of the holiday. the entertainment was good though.'bad mothers club' member 13
