Thanks ever so much for all your replies. I decided to put it to a family vote and it was 3/1 so we have decided to stay at home..... nevermind eh! I'm just thinking what we could've done with the money that we have lost for the caravan........ I could've given it to charity!0

Change your mind and GO ! We had a fab 2weeks in Cornwall years ago with the family- it peed down for the whole 2 weeks. We just did everything outside as normal but with kagouls on.
As Billy Connoly would say. Theres no such thing as bad weather- just the wrong clothes:D0 -
I also think you should change your minds and go - in this life, you never remember the time you DIDN'T do something, only the things you did do!!!0

Crikey! It's SUNNY down here. I'm just off to the beach. Come on down and pick up a West Briton on your way. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=477758fb0

if you decide not to go , is there anyone nearer you could give the holiday to - rather than it going to waste.........(even on these boards)
if it was us (in this situation), i'm sure we would have gone...... at least for a few days , and then if it had been that bad you could always have come home"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page."
happy travels !!

We would go, as know our children would get on with it and still have fun.
Most caravan parks also have indoor swimming and evening entertainment.
But only you know your children and know if they will make the most of it and have fun or just sit about moaning.0 -
I would of still gone and made the most out of it.There are still plenty of things to do and enjoyment to be had even when its raining.
We are off to Great Yarmouth(Seashore - Haven) next Saturday for a week and theres no way i wouldnt go no matter what the weather is like."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0 -
Are you mad? You've paid for a holiday and arent going, even though you can't be sure the weather would be rubbish?
It would be the perfect oportunity to go out and get wet in wellies, and stay in playing board and card games and watching rubbish films on telly.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -
Surely you're not afraid of the rain are you Spendthrift?
You go for it - my last wet weather holiday was one of the most memorable

It's been really warm and dry here, plenty to see. The weather is not as bad as the forecast says it should be. Had a lovely walk on Bodmin Moor this lunchtime and we have had all the doors and windows open all day.
Come on down and enjoy our wonderful county.0
