Help!! Would You Still Go?

Hi, just wanting some advice really. We are suppose to be off to Perranporth tomorrow: me, the OH, two teenage girls (14 & 16yrs) and a puppy (4months). We are suppose to be staying in a caravan. My question is would you still travel the 320 miles when the weather for the next 5 days is really bad. Don't want to sound pessimistic but will it be any fun in the rain with 2 bored & wet kids and one hell of a mad puppy??? Don't know whether to cut our losses and stay at home with all our comforts, or whether to travel down there and risk being cold & wet in a caravan. What would you do? Thanks in advance

Well I managed to click the thanks by mistake so that ones on me

I would just go for it anyway. How often do you get the chance to have quality family time together. Even if the weather is crap you could always take a pack of cards or talk
Go for it.

I would definitely still go. If you plan your life around the weather, you'd never do anything in this country!0

I'm visiting London next week and the weather looks awful! You should go and spend time with your family. Take a mac, umberella and have a laugh! Or put it to a family vote?0

yeh go it..
Perranporth is great, central to a few places so you can have a drive around.. St. Agnes's beach by the way had loads of seaweed on it last time i went.. Tintagel is worth a look.... but not sure whether you're kids would be up for that0 -
We went to Tintagel over the last bank hol, and the weather forcast was terrible. The first day, it was absolutely shocking weather - driving rain and gail force winds, but the next day and the following 3 were lovely & sunny. It had forcast heavy rain and wind for 5 full days, but only one was a complete washout.
We took books, and ipod speakers as well as the cagouls, but it was nowhere near as bad as expected. We've had lots of wet holidays bonding over shared crossword puzzles and travel scrabble with our 3 children - I wouldn't let a weather forcast deter you, just go prepared and hope to be surprised!0 -
It was dry hear today (cornwall) it was suposed to be raining. So you might be ok.:j0

I've just done 4 days in a very wet Ireland staying in cork, and not for anything would i have stayed at home0

You must Go!!
Went to Newquay a few weeks back and the weather was not great - however there is so much to do in Cornwall whatever the weather. Such diverse weather in Cornwall - it was raining in Newquay, but 10 mins down the road it was dry and bright!
We had a day at the National Seal Sanctuary in Gweek and then went to the BT Satellite Centre (Goonhilly) which is a bit further down the road. Thought Goonhilly would be boring, but it was quite fun with lots of interactive features. You can also make as many calls worldwide free of charge! You teenagers should like the totally free internet cafe to catch up on messages from their mates!
Enjoy yourselves!0 -

We went to Goonhilly on a foggy day and joined a tour. I remember the guide pointing and saying things like "You would normally see our biggest satellite over there, and on this side our oldest one." 30 or so people would then obediently turn to look at various bits of dense fog.
Nevertheless, the whole family enjoyed it.

Oh heck....the thought of being stuck in a caravan with my moaning lot.......... . I see your dilemma.

I would still go though, you might be pleasantly surprised. Just make sure you take cards, board games and silly prizes like small bars of choc etc for the really bad days and 'tasteful' pac-a-macs for the days when you can venture out.
Just saw when you posted this.....you're probably gone by now. :rotfl: 0
