Massive phone bill

I recently took out a contract in my name with three for my sister under the agreement that after the first two bills she would then pay it. She has now run up a bill of £177 and wont give me the money.I have three other contracts with them and they all get paid on time with no massive bills.
Is there any way i can get out of the contract or transfer it into her name and stop it from coming back on my credit rating

I'm not sure what you can do about the contract but the first thing i would do is report it stolen and get it blocked

you won't be able to get out of the contract without paying the early termination, and as its a new contract, it'll be expensive.

you should be able to transfer it, as long as your sister agrees, and she passes the credit check

They won't transfer it unless she passes the credit check so assume because it had to be in your name she wouldn't pass.

Best bet is to report the phone lost, get it blocked and get them to send you a replacement sim. If and when you resolve the issue give the new sim back to your sister, if you can't resolve the issue with her at least she won't be running up bills you can't afford.
It's not just about the money

If it's on contract, then no way of getting out of it, but you can ask for the sim to be blocked. When you took out the contract on behalf of your sister, you also took on the risk and responsibilities that come with the contract.

Never take out credit for another family member, all collection activity will be targeted just at you..

given that contracts are quite unlimited , how was such a bill run up...

The problem with reporting it lost\stolen is that the phone will be blocked and so will be of no use or saleable for you..

Just phone the provider explain your problem and ask that they only block the sim out rather than the phone...

If i ask them to block the sim so she cant use any more allowance and i ring up explain and say im willing to have a payment plan to just pay off the value of the phone, could they do that? Obviously they wont be losing money on data as the sim would be blocked.
Surely the other three contracts should play in my favour, I've not gone over on any of them even once

I only got it in my name as she didn't have an address at the time

Any payment plan will ruin your credit history.
Either transfer the contract to your sister (unlikely unless you pay the bill first) or
get your sister to post you both the phone and the sim, then sell the phone.

This makes no sense to me.
    Is it just me?
