Hi, ive been at my current job for over 2years now i started out on £12000pa being told i will start off at the bottom but within a year i will be at the front desk with a salary of £18000+, neither of these have happened, infact when i was still *at the bottom* another person was brought into the position that i was promised to have.
I now do alot more work than when i started and i am more or less the office skivy, which includes going to the shop to get milk, going to the bank, and running other errands aswell as my job im supposed to be doing.
I am now paid £14500pa (which is alot less than everyone else) I have lost all motivation as i was made all these promises and i was just crushed time and time again, i would like to say again i am the office skivy (which is everything everyone else doesnt want or cant be bothered to do) aswell as doing my main job.
I have a family but just cant provide 10 days away from pay day and i have nothing, and the boss just doesnt take me seriously

Get another job and leave. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0

I have been looking/applying for a good year now but to no avail, i would never leave without something else lined up no matter how bad things are0

I take it that you asked your manager for a meeting to explain what you were promised and where you are now. You also asked if there was a reason you have not progressed as you expected?
What was your managers response?0 -
At the time the new person was taken on i walked into my managers office the same day and before i said anyhting his words were ''I know exactly what your going to say'' i then went on to say well whats going on then, i was then told things havnt gone as expected and i would be resuming the role at the time for the forceable future, i got talking to the new employee and i was informed his salary was 50% more than mine!!! it has also since gone up, I was told when i turned 21 my money would go up by a few 1000ish but i was then told ''sorry i worked it out wrong your not entitled to more money''
People think im stupid, i know this by comments that are made. Im a tough person and what people think of me doesnt make me lose sleep.
The thing is i am alot more clued up than people think.
I was due a annual review back in october and i have asked numerous times for it but ive been told nows not a good time.0 -

I don't mean to sound harsh op but count yourself lucky you are not on the dole like some of us.
I would love a income of (£14500) as that is a lot wow
I only get £126.33 a fortnight from Jobseekers so you are lucky to have a job, so stop moaning
It makes me so mad when these people are in work and take home loads of money and stating their can't afford foods, bills ete.0 -

How does this help the OP?
I would be rather put out if I was promised something and my employer not giving it to me. Although I agree with your sentiments that the OP should be grateful for having a job. £14,500 isn't alot if you got massive out goings.0 -
Yes does sound harsh, £14500 isnt alot of money, to pay for food, rent, electric, gas, water, baby food, baby clothes, petrol, insurance, +things like road tax, mot.
I dont have luxurys at all, i buy morrisons own food, havnt bought myself anything since i can remember, no wifi, cut my own hair.
So before you start moaning yourself consider everything i WORK for all 48 hours a week buys everything my family need to live, this topic was not for me to moan about my current wage it was about i have been made false promises since my employment here and wanted to know what i could do about it!0 -

In that case at 21 years old you are being underpaid. The minimum wage for 21 year old is £6.31 per hour.
48 hours x £6.31 x 52 weeks = £15749.76 per annum0 -
OP I think if your employer aren't prepared to move on the issue, the only other thing you can do is keep your head down and keep looking for other opportunities elsewhere.0
