People think im stupid, i know this by comments that are made. Im a tough person and what people think of me doesnt make me lose sleep.

The thing is i am alot more clued up than people think.

Why do people think you are stupid? If you are more 'clued up' than people think, why not show them how capable you are?

I would start a subtle work to rule.

Identify your main job tasks and prioritise them, do them well and try to increase the workload of really important stuff.

Everything else gets put off, slowly to start with, sorry I am just too busy I can do that later, going to the shops I will do that on the way in/home but do it in work time, as long as it does not impact the main stuff.

You still do the stuff but on your terms/timescales.

Ask about what insurance they have in place for these errands out of the office, how do you get to the shops/bank, if car it needs business insurance.

Not the best of advice given that they already think s/he is stupid?

I don't mean to sound harsh op but count yourself lucky you are not on the dole like some of us.

I would love a income of (£14500) as that is a lot wow

I only get £126.33 a fortnight from Jobseekers so you are lucky to have a job, so stop moaning

It makes me so mad when these people are in work and take home loads of money and stating their can't afford foods, bills ete.

The most ridiculous and stupid post of the day.

OP, it sounds like your work is taking you for granted.
From your posts it also seems they are trying everything to avoid to paying you more, including dodging appraisals. Probably because they run out of excuses.
Some bosses unfortunately are like this and there is no other way out of it but to leave for somewhere where they will treat you better!
Good luck on your job hunt. I hope you find something better soon.

    Good luck with job hunting.

I don't mean to sound harsh guy but count yourself lucky you live in a country that has a safety net for the unemployed.

As for the OP get job hunting if its not for you and in the meantime pin the manger down and have a discussion as to why you haven't progressed and what you need to do in order to move up.
  • I have had times where i have refused all other work/requests and the atomosphere turns very sour very quickly.

The reason people think im stupid is because nobody was explained to why i didnt get the front desk job, well in truth i was never really explained to either, but none the less i have before said things regarding my role being affected because other people cant be bothered and i have been told you'll never be able to do this job and theres a reason your sat back there.

As i said before im a very tough egg to crack and it takes alot for me to lose sleep, i have reported incidents such as this before with nothing every really coming of it so i learned to live with it really.

I am always left out when the office go for a drink or meal (i mean never invited) plus i wouldnt be able to go anyway because of the big difference in my pay to everyone elses, when i cant afford to take lunch to work im often mocked about it.

After a year of trying to move job and being unsuccesful, i am gunna to try and resolve my current situation with the manager whilst still looking, its gone on long enough.

  • Maybe you could try something self employed? I have my own small business and work from home and have limited access to the british public - not for your reasons but generally they irritate me so much :) Have a look on a website called PeoplePerHour and see if you could put any skills to use maybe. Just a thought!

Oh don't say that. Not yet anyway. There are several hours left in the day, there's a distinct possibility he'll say something more ridiculous and stupid before the day is out.
