Glad you had a nice day Lovefullshelves :)

I normally just grow a few potatoes in old. Compost sacks, as it hasnt been worth growing loads due to them being quite cheap, but today when i had to pay 3.39 for a bag of bog basic pots i am going to grow alot more now.....i used to buy big sacks, but with the kids grown up, and not eating in so much, i am not using them up quick enough now....

We always grow new potatoes, because none that you can buy are anything like as good, ever. We don't grow old / maincrop ones nowadays though as we only have a small garden now.

Well, I have washed up and cleaned the worktops, but failed on the kitchen floor washing challenge, as I have run out of steam / too lazy :o

I must try to do it tomorrow evening now :(

Thank you rogueylawyer what type do you have?If you get the ones with attachments Can they help with bathroom tiles and limescale taps ? we live in a very hard water area.

I've got the shark with the detachable body and all the attachments. I've only had it a month or two so haven't used it for a proper deep clean in the bathroom (I have tonnes of cillit bang to work through first), although I do use the steam spray on the hob to clear the grease and that works wonders.

This is the one we bought http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/home-appliances/vacuum-cleaners/steam-cleaners/shark-lift-away-s3901-2-in-1-professional-steam-mop-white-16424030-pdt.html

Sounds like a good birthday LFS, no less than it should be :)

Quite a frugal sort of day today, gave myself a facial/mani/pedi/fake tan which I estimate saved me about £75 at salon prices, and no pressure to buy overpriced products ;)
    nsd/npd
Walked 2 miles on the treadmill, burned 240 calories and saved myself a gym fee.

    Night night :)

We have a steam mop, as we have three lino floors and one very large tiled floor.
It may be more expensive than an OS mop, but it gets the job done in a quarter of the time, and no more floor soap.
Of course, I now have two part filled bottles of wood and floor soap if anyone wants them :rotfl:
Can anyone tell me if they are ok to use on laminate wood floors. All our apartment has these except the kitchen and bathroom which have tiled floors. Just worried the laminate might get too wet ??

Morning all. Am back in work today after a super busy weekend. I need to check tbe damage on my savings today, though the only thing I'm annoyed at spending on is multiple trips to mcds as we pass it to get to the tip (my fault, I need to work on my healthy eating lack if will power)

We did for the time and money though do umpteen trips to the tip, sort and landscape the pond area, mive the chooks to the end of the garden into a disused shed with a new run (their 'shop bought' hen house was falling rapidly apart!) and find the floor of the freen house (it had become a temporary tindling store) and pot on the tomatoes, runners and rehome some escapee strawbs. Phew!

So, spends today will be on road tax (already aside in savings) and a 10ft trampoline for the kids - we're aiming to put it up this weekend coming as long as Mr Shortie is abke to flatten the designated area in the back garden, get the membrane and sleepers down and the bark that was delivered yesterday spread in the area

I / Mr Shortie will also have a look at a small skip soon too. I know it's more money to be spent buy there's a fair bit of garden clearance still to go, and 3 sheds to clear out. I'm thinkibg it will save time, effort, petrol, mileage on the car and help to stop the mcds temptations

    Glad it wasn't just me amber03 :p

So, the car road tax has been paid up for 12 months and I've ordered the trampoline.

I had hm instant porridge in work for breakfast, and apple from home, made my own tea in work (my turn to buy milk next which will be later this week) and I've just finishing off a RTC Teriyaki Chicken with brown rice and veges. I'm sooooo hungry though (I have been since the mass of physical work started at the weekend) I just really hope this lunch fills me up... it's not a huge portion but I've been assured that brown rice is more filling than white so I hope that's true - I've never tried brown rice before

I'll give it 10 mins and I might go and make my last cuppa for the working day and munch my satsuma. Problem is, if I have them too early I might get the munchies at 4 and then I'll have nothing here to eat :rotfl:

Shortie brown rice is more filling than white, I think because it takes longer to chew ;)

The water butt is full thanks to Saturday's downpour but it's surprising how quickly the pots/troughs dry out, so I always have a big jug by the sink as well for grey water. I used to keep a bucket on the floor but by the time I'd soaked dishes and pans and poured the water into the bucket it didn't look very nice, so I just take the pan/jug out now. More trips, more calories burned - got to be practical :D
