I don't iron anything!! Does that make me bad or just wrinkly!!!
My iron might come out once a year, nut only if I decide I want to wear one of about 3 items that can't just be washed, dried and worn..... unfortunately didn't realise when I bought them, otherwise they'd have stayed in the stores regardless of how much I loved them ;)

And I don't have a job, a full-time partner (OH is only here at the weekend) or young children to occupy my time instead - I just honestly don't see the point.

I've only ever had 2 years of regularly ironing, and that was when I worked in a supermarket and my contract stated uniforms had to be clean and ironed for the start of every shift. But I bought extra uniform pieces so that I could wash, dry and iron just once a week (they initially gave me 2 shirts and 1 pinny as I only worked PT, but I was in for 5 consecutive days and had to have clean uniform every day - did persuade them to increase me to 3 and 2 respectively, then managed to 'acquire' a 3rd pinny they'd lent someone that was left lying around prior to buying 2 more of each), and once a month or thereabouts I'd also iron one or 2 of the aforementioned pieces of general clothing while the board and iron were out. I think I've had the iron out once since I left that job almost 18 months ago!

I only iron really, really wrinkly things that would look dreadful if I didn't, and am usually careful when I am buying clothes to get things that won't need it. I do find that Summer cotton things tend to need more ironing than Winter clothes though, and needing to be relatively smart at work means more ironing :( As for bedding etc, well, that just gets a shake and folded up! My Mum used to iron everything and thought I was really lazy as I don't :rotfl:

Lazy day today, as back to work tomorrow. I am dreading it :(
I keep telling myself, only a few more days, but I know it is going to be awful trying to get everything finished off and handed over

The weather is nicer today - yesterday was cold and windy with really heavy rain later on. Still, the garden needed the rain, and things have visibly grown :) I have ordered nematodes and slug traps as I don't want to use pellets this year. Some knowledgeable folks on the greenfingered thread informed me that the nasty little grubs in some of my pots that I have been giving the chickens are vine weevils  so I got some nematodes for them as well. I haven't used them before, so am looking forward to seeing how well they work. They seem to be cheapest on Amazon for some reason if anyone else is thinking of buying any.

I also need to buy a few ingredients as I want to make a curry today. I got the Hairy Bikers' curry book from a CS a few weeks ago and really want to try out something from there. So I will head to Lidls a bit later :)

    Morning all

I was so cold yesterday, lit the fire and burnt the last of my wood. Better than putting the heating on.
The DSs got up at 6am, were chuffed to bits that the easter bunny had replied to their letters and left a trail of treats in the garden (@ldi specials)
They then spent the day munching chocolate and playing nicely, I did some work, nearly finished my job application and tidied up. Made tea with odds and ends out the fridge so all in all a very frugal day. Off to work later and have got leftovers to take, just baked some bread too.
Happy birthday Lovefullshelves hope you have a lovely day.

I don't iron either unless entirely necessary, in fact my iron is so old and has been dropped so many times I'm surprised it works!

Welcome WizzyPop :) and happy birthday Lovefullshelves! :)

Staying at home today, so it's a NSD for me. Reached my target in sw*gbucks today, so I've requested money to be paid into my P*ypal account. I'm going to be paying the final payment for my (quite expensive!) holiday with my friends next weekend, so any extra bits of money coming in is definitely welcome!

Payday on Thursday, I'm earning quite a bit more now in my new job than before, so I'm looking forward to being able to put more money away into my savings.

I can imagine myself feeling like that, this time next year.

I think it's a matter of pride to leave everything done and dusted with no loose ends!

Dont post often as i should.

I normally just grow a few potatoes in old. Compost sacks, as it hasnt been worth growing loads due to them being quite cheap, but today when i had to pay 3.39 for a bag of bog basic pots i am going to grow alot more now.....i used to buy big sacks, but with the kids grown up, and not eating in so much, i am not using them up quick enough now....

We have a steam mop, as we have three lino floors and one very large tiled floor. I despise normal mopping, but the steam mop is almost a pleasure. Plus - you just take the micro fibre cloth off and chuck it in the washing machine. All the mops I've seen come with two cloth 'heads' and mine has two sides to it. I just chuck it in with the white wash once every week or two, depending on how grotty the floor was :rotfl:
It may be more expensive than an OS mop, but it gets the job done in a quarter of the time, and no more floor soap.

Of course, I now have two part filled bottles of wood and floor soap if anyone wants them :rotfl:

Thank you rogueylawyer what type do you have?If you get the ones with attachments Can they help with bathroom tiles and limescale taps ? we live in a very hard water area.

    Busy day after all :)

This morning I did quite a bit of work for my small business. then after lunch headed to lidls. Spent £12.99 on chicken breasts, mince, potatoes, spinach, tomatoes and onions (and probably a couple of other bits as well, OH wanted some trail mix fruit / nut stuff).

Got back, had a cuppa, then cooked a chicken Balti from the HB's curry book, and a chilli to use up the fridge veg. Both big enough for at least 2 meals for the two of us :)

We had half the curry for supper, with some rice, and it was gorgeous - as good as a curry at a decent Indian restaurant :D Can't wait to try some others.

Anyway, there is enough for tomorrow as well, then chilli for Wednesday, unless I want something different in which case I will freeze it for another time :D

It means I don't have to worry too much about evening meals this week if I don't feel like cooking after work, anyway :)

Now I just need to clean up the kitchen .....
