Talking about that ive been watching extreme cheapskates! So terrible how some people can live the way they do. I like to save money but not at other peoples expense!
Dd has two parties this weekend. So present needed buying and also popped to f.foods for 3 bags of meat for £10.
Hoping for a nsd today but its a little optimistic as ive been biying as i need which means im constantly in and out of the shop for one or two things!!
If you have your shopping delivered on a weekly/fortnightly basis, you would get into a routine and hopefully not forget anything.
This is what I am finding anyway. Shopping on line cures those impulse buys! :rotfl:"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -

I ordered some food online before xmas, and was dependant on it for dd for school and dh for work the next day as i didnt have time to go to the shop. I had an email the morning that it was due to say the bank hadnt sent payment and therefore wouldnt havent had the items. I'd paid on my cc and it was practically empty so there was no reason for it and it really made me angry as they then couldnt resend for two days! I had to pop to the local corner shop for bread & milk, and go shopping the next day. It wasnt the end of the world but very annoying. I had done my xmas shop online 2, but cancelled it after this happened, worried id be without at xmas. I also deleted the app for this particular supermarket, which is a shame becuase i find shopping online so much easier with a small baby.Still here..... but working on that!0 -

Can we name and shame?
So far I have found MR T to be better than ASDA on reliability.
How about you?"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much was in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little bit better because I was important in the life of a child."0 -

I gave up online supermarket shopping due to the substitutions, which in some cases were ridiculous. The final straw was when only half of my (paid for) order was delivered, and the helpline staff were disbelieving to the point of rudeness, and said that I would have to wait till the driver returned to the depot to see if there was anything left in the truck. Needless to say there was - my shopping  Had the delivery driver have been dishonest (or more likely, if it been delivered to the wrong customer, and face it, till you unpack it you can't really see what is there), I think I would have struggled to get my money refunded. It wasn't Mr T or Mr A - it was the orange one.
I do appreciate how handy it is for new Mums though. Though Lidl's (now my favourite) don't deliver

Totally agree, two years ago i got daffodills and about two other items!! Everything else was out of stock!Still here..... but working on that!0 -
I also gave up with online shopping after items were either missing due to being out of stock or the substitutions were ridiculous.
I usually shop to my food plan and things on my list are for a particular recipe. If I can't get one item for a recipe when I am out shopping I will not buy the rest of the things for that recipe and I can usually decide on a replacement meal on the spot and buy things for that. Online shopping does not allow this so I stopped it.
Chirpycheap you have inspired me to get out for a walk today. I had planned a walk but looking outside and its grey and dull and wet I thought I just can't be bothered walking in this. I will head out now and I may even take a wee flask of coffee to sip in the car afterwards:D.0 -
Feeling frugal today. Planning on not leaving the house or spending a penny!

Downloaded only free kindle books to fill it up and give me something to read.. I need milk and bananas but I am going to hold off until tomorrow to get some as I want to make a list and but whatever fresh veggies I need.
Checking out stuff on ebay as I know it was a free listings weekend, seeing if I can bag some bridal bargains094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

I need milk. Sod.
was all happily planning supermarket shop tomorrow.
well think I will go to the shop(!) cos going to the supermarket round here on a Sunday is like shopping in a crazy place full of nutters who think the end of the world is coming. The nice man in the shop and Sunday paper sounds much nicer.
Plus I am picking up an unwanted hamster today (not very frugal unless I can wire him up to produce electricity! ) so have to get a shift on.
Food today
Breakfast - bacon and eggs from fridge
Lunch - frozen roast dinner read meal Mum left me!
Dinner - half a quiche and oven chips.
I don't have much veg left......got some manky looking apples and oranges. think I might have some frozen somethings.....
ooo and last night was not Frugal.....but it was cheap. had half price pizza with my friend. V nice tho. not sure she was keen but to be honest I couldn't afford much else.
Will be back later to read properly. I must say I love this thread
Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
