I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
    Thanks Kerry.

Trying to work out how i can order online without a debit card. May have to use the credit card and pay for it next month.
Don't want to, but my son really needs a hoodie .
  • Count me in too please. We are looking to move house in the spring and I need to keep a tighter reign on my wages.

I must try and meal plan next year. On the whole we are resistant to it because my DH grew up in a household where they knew what day of the week it was by the meal provided and I am to lazy to be bothered. UpTo now that is... It is about to change!!!

Better sign up after a terrible year. Can only hope that 2014 is going to a better year for us. I think the main places we can save cash are the food budget, and by buying less naughty snacks and sweets! Also getting the kids to join in with us may be helpful.

I filled a big bag of too big clothes ready for Ebay when the next free listing is on and also a bag for the charity shop.

Joining the Credit Union on Saturday :) Can't wait to get some savings behind me.

My mission to stay out of the January sales and not by things I don't need as I do every year just because they are in the sale.

Off topic a bit but if anyone likes Boss Orange, I got Suddenly Diamonds in Lidl last night - smells just like it :) and for £3.99

At the moment, there is no challenger list. Anyone can join or leave this challenge whenever they like, come and go as you please.

It's all about budgeting to within a penny and stretching those finances to get as much as possible for your money. I will use this post for updates and additions throughout 2014.

Good luck to all who choose to take part and thank you for joining Frugaldom. :)

Please can I join in? 2014 will be a debt busting year:j

Great thread - and no doubt will be incredibly useful, empowering and enlightening to a significant number of our clients (and to me also!). I'll certainly be sure to point folks in this direction.

    Best wishes,

    David @ NDL.

You guys do such a great job, keep up the good work.

I think I shall join you if that's okay :) I have some savings but would like to up them as much as possible. I'm not too bad already, I just feel I could do a little better as I still buy the odd thing that I really don't genuinely *need* - so hopefully this thread will give me the motivation that I need.
  • I'm in this year. I'm down to the last £5.5k (from £14k) and also my last year as a stay at home mum I think as ds2 starts school next September. I want to be debt free before I go back to work ideally so we can think about buying a house.

I'm going to be more disciplined with meal planning, saving vouchers for Christmas and using cash when it's an offline purchase. Going to get back into swag bucks again too.

I hope that in a couple of years time I'll be in my own home, hosting my first big Christmas dinner for my parents!

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi All,

I'd like to give this challenge a go. I became debt free in April (thanks to an unexpected bonus from work) and have been living well within my means = a very comfortable budget ever since. I do use the CC but pay it in full every month.

I think though the idea of living frugally = no waste is where I need to start. I've noticed that I've become a little lax in some areas. I'm throwing out soggy veg or not noticing until too late that food is out of date (yoghurt 2wks past its use by date!) mouldy wraps I've forgotten to freeze as I'd plan to use them but didn't, nipping to shop to pay over the odds for something only to find I already have it hidden in the back of a cupboard... small things that start to add up.

We want to make a real dent in doing the house up in 2014, we have big plans and I want to save a big pot of money to do it!

Frugality, here I come! (though maybe after Christmas ;))
