Our puppy is easily spooked by all kinds of stuff. Cardboard boxes, for example. I think she enjoys getting spooked - she'll skitter away and then creep back again. You can chase her around the house with a broom for hours. :D

The hair dryer, hoover, plastic bags, post man, the nutter upstairs, some men, the list is endless :)
  • My big, macho male Bengal disappears when the vacuum or hair dryer goes on, he then cries for me when I've finished with either :rotfl:

He'll also sit on the outer window ledge of the kitchen window and as soon as he hears a neighbour's door or footsteps, he bolts inside.

He is also terrified of my parent's Husky.......

My teeny tiny female on the other hand, is scared of nothing but my sneezes.

Shepherd is pretty much scared of nothing, apart from me when he's done something wrong :rotfl: (you know the 'it wasn't me but I'm guilty' look). Spinone is scared of the daftest things - if my daughter takes a sharp intake of breath in his direction he charges off! A few weeks ago the Shepherd knocked my kitchen bin over, and the Spin wouldnt jump over it or go round it!
  • Using 'wussy' as in scared of things that shouldn't be scary - not the weak physically meaning.

So, I have a dog who is one of the wussiest dogs I've met. Now, I can understand fireworks and thunder, but a cat coughing?

One of the cats coughed the other day and he went out the room with his usual worried look.

When my partner or I swear he gets upset and sometimes starts crawling/creeping up to us (dog lovers should know what I mean).

Cats playing. He runs out the room if he hears the cat's playing (scratching a scratching post or chasing each other).

When the male cats call for attention.

Yet he acts all macho outside on walks.

So, anyone else got a wussy pet?

I wouldn't say he's a wuss - just well trained by his feline overlords.

My cat Jessie is scared of the "pshhhhhtt" noise when I open a bottle of sparkling water. She doesn't bat an eyelid at fireworks, but that Pshhhttt completely freaks her out. :p

Lol, the male bengal here used to be scared of fans. He'd try to duck under the air coming from it. Was quite funny. Now he's figured it out it doesn't bother him. His tiny mother is phased by nothing either but is the boss of him for sure.

Well, when he first met them he did try to dominate them by humping...maybe they're getting their own back...

Both of mine are scared of everything - and so were all my other cats.

Silver foil freaks them out. Same with carrier bags. Morris (new addition) comes over all cuddly but the first time you touch him he nearly jumps out his skin. Lottie is scared of Morris (along with everything else) but he totally adores her and follows her everywhere. Both scared of the hoover. She hates the hairdryer, he'll just about manage to sit in the doorway.

They're usually scared of people too. Not exactly in a rush to be friendly. One may venture down after someone's been there a while. Lottie's scared of my mum as she's had to stay round there when I've been away and I think she worries mum's gonna take her to hers! She'll jump over the fence into next door's and hide for a few hours if mum pops round.

My old cat Kola was scared of everything too, she'd hide behind the sofa trembling if it thundered. Don't get me started on fireworks...

My lovely (now gone) ol' Jerry was scared of boots. He'd been owned by a man who I think had abandoned him (and possibly mistreated him) so that may be why. He was also a horrendous traveller - not sure if it was car sickness or if he was just a big wuss. My current two miaow about twice per second if in the car.

I've always had really wussy cats. My cat Arnie which I grew up with was a big bruiser scared of nothing. He'd bully our old Doberman. When he heard his chain jingling, he'd jump on the armchair wiggling waiting to jump on his back when he trotted in. Poor dog lol.
