Well done on making the first steps to be debt free.
To make it less painful could you change the marketing/email subscription preferences in your boden account (and others) so that for now you don't get these emails/flyers and so won't know what they are trying to tempt you to spend/waste your money on.
It doesn't mean closing your account - that will still be there when you choose to look for something specific but it will be on your terms when you choose to spend rather than being persuaded to spend by them.
You can always go back and change it again later if you want to resume the emails,0 -

Well done you!
I don't actually know what Boden is
but you go ostrich! I bought a coat from debenhams a week ago (on sale, love it and got cashback) but they've been spamming me every two days since. I can see how it's super tempting.
Yes I've been lurking0 -
Thanks! It's a clothing company. Lovely stuff, but horridly expensive really, and very much an "aspirational yummy mummy" brand. Have attenpted to amend my email settings, but not having much luck, so have marked as "spam" so my ISP should bin them automatically for now.

hey reccurent-ostrich!
I feel for you - my OH also didn't have a job (for 6 months last year) and has also just been told his contract won't be renewed after January next year. So I know how hard it can be. But I just wanted to say - you have the mindset and the motivation! I am sure you will bust these debts and I love your countdown to freedom!!
Keep at it - you can do it!!!
Big hugs

You are doing really well OP.
Just want to agree with what BEAT THE DEBT has said, when you are debt free and your kids are still doing their activities without the help of their grandparents it is YOU who can be proud of yourself. You won't need to thank anyone and you will not owe anyone anything, not even gratitude.
My original post, which I decided against posting, just said tell the grandparents to stick their money, but thought that might have come across as a bit rude (sorry if it is rude!!)
I paid off all my debts this year and got a loan to pay my mums debts off so she is debt free and I will have the loan (much lower interest than her debts) paid off in 6-8 months. It has meant that I have not been on holiday since June 2012 and I sold pretty much everything I had but didn't need on eBay, but I did it myself and have had to thank no one for it.
Good luck, I have no doubt that you will be successful and I will keep popping in to see how you are doing
