I don't think it's all racial hatred. If someone robs, cheats or annoys you, creed or colour is immaterial. Every race has good and bad, same goes for every colour. My friends are assorted colours, religions and races, and even political polar opposites. They have one thing in common - all decent, trustworthy citizens. Take as YOU find, not as others tell you to find.0 -

No its the !!!!ing and crapping in public, begging for money when they get benefits to keep them. Its a business not a need as I wrote before. Quite a few Romanians work and are quite happy to do so, not beg in the streets.
Belfastgirl23, you have missed the Chinese guy who sits outside Marks and Spencer usually a Saturday with a organ and murders well known hymns. He is so depressing.0 -

Some Romanians work, I've met a few. Do any Roma work? What do they do? What grounds do they get benefits under if they haven't worked? Plenty living off agincourt ave so someone is paying the rent.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

We are a fairly xenophobic people but in fairness to those who've commented here I don't see anyone spreading racial hatred. So the beggars are Roma, that's been observed, but nobody's inciting race hate against the Roma.
You should've had a glass of wine with dinner. It might have calmed you down.0 -
Not hatred, just an awareness of reality http://britishdemocraticparty.org/the-roma-scourge-is-coming-your-way-by-martin-webster/0

Beggars aside any Europeans I've met in NI have been as a result of their occupation. The last one I spoke to was a traffic warden whose advice I asked on parking just the other day. My brother employs a number of Hungarians and says they are excellent workers who never stop. Some have two or more jobs and do part time work as well, homers, that kind of thing. He says they all send lots of money home.
As a result of my own experiences then my impression is that most Europeans who are here work. The exception being the small number of Roma beggars I've seen (maybe 5 in total) and I understand they are run as part of gangs.
As I said before I've seen Roma beggars and musicians all over Europe and that is my only experience of them. I know from my friend who lived in Romania that it's a very poor country and I can well imagine many of them being keen to get gainful occupation here. Roma aren't all Romanian though. That's as much as I know.0 -

And no local was available to do this job?whose advice I asked on parking just the other day.
Some have two or more jobs and do part time work as well, homers, that kind of thing. Sure. Why pay tax? Such a nuisance
He says they all send lots of money home. Thereby extracting money from the local economy. Great
As a result of my own experiences then my impression is that most Europeans who are here work. The unemployment rate is apparently higher than among the locals

No disrespect but I would have grave doubts about the motives of any article published by such a far right, dare I say neo-Nazi, organisation. Yes there may be truth in it. I certainly believe the numbers of Roma will increase in the UK and we will see part of that here. That may make us more aware of them, we may even see new laws introduced to cope with the problems they bring with them.
The British Democratic Party however aren't motivated by what problems the Roma might cause. They're more interested in causing extreme xenophobia which would have severe repercussions for even the most honest and hard working Roma.0 -

As I said in post #28 where I included a link to the Roma diaspora. Here it is again if you want to revise on the Roma en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roma_(Romani_subgroup)
I think the assumption with most people is that the modern day Roma have some connection with Romania, probably because the names are similar, and in that they'd be right, particularly in Wallachia, but as the word "diaspora" suggests, the race is actually very widespread in the modern world.
I believe they actually originated in India which perhaps accounts for their distinctive dark complexion.0
