Post Code TW19 - cat living around a bus stop

If the cat was out at 11.15 and then at 8 I would say its time to get concerned, bless it.
Please tell your friend to be careful when knocking on people doors, does she know the area?
Maybe another call to the RSPCA advising of the new information that it has been left out all night, that alone is certainly not signs of neglect but along it with pictures it is now looking that way0 -

I agree. If the cat is spending nights outside too, then it's time to get concerned, specially in this weather. Probably best idea to post a call for help in Purrs in our Heart or Catchat (?) like other have suggested to see if there is anyone in the area that could help with a catbasket/transport. However, I think this should only be done AFTER few knocks on the neighbouring properties to see if anyone does own it or knows about the cat/its owner. Well done Gettingready and your friend to actually take care of feeding the poor cat.0 -
Plan is to knock on neighbour AND the owner's door when my friend finishes work today, it was too early in the morning she felt.
I have just ordered a cat basket from Amazon for express delivery to be delivered at my friend's address - just in case we need it.

Friend is calling the vets if any would see the cat at discounted price.
She will ask the owner tonight if they want the cat to be gone - it is not being fed and let inside, perhaps they do not want it, will see.
Will update in the evening.0 -
Oh if only there were more people like you and your friend. You are going to great lengths to help this poor little cat.I really hope the owner does want rid,and you can get it somewhere safe and warm, and treated for whatever it may have though i supect food warmth and love will make a world of difference to it.Fancy having to sleep behind bricks.Makes me so sad for it.
Fingers crossed for some good news tonight.0 -
FRriend looked at the cats teeth yeaterday - she said it does not look like a 19 yo cat, looks much younger BUT will see what happens tonight and if we can arange a vet visit for the cat: check up, flea/worming treatment, age estimate. Friend is a hairdresserm can shave the matted bits of herself if it comes to that.
But even if the owner says she does not really want this cat - we have nowhere to take it...
Will wait till evening and see - then take it from there.0 -
If between you you can arrange a vet's appointment and state it is a stray they may keep it for one night till you can find somewhere.Anywhere has to be better than the way it is living now.0
-
One night would not be enough time to find somewhere permanenet for the cat and really none of us is in a position to take this cat in.
Have to wait till tonight, see what neighbours/owner say and what my friend hears from the vets she is contacting.
She needs to find one who is open late in the evening as she works till 5.30 and takes her about an hour to get home. Cat is near where she lives.0 -
Hi GR
I don't think it matters if the woman wants the cat or not - it doesn't look in a good state, and it's far too cold to be out at nights at the moment. If the vet can check it out, could you keep it in a room at your house, just for a couple of days where you find somewhere to take it? It doesn't have to be permanent, but even just confined to one room is better than being out in the cold.
Thank goodness that you and your friend are taking an interest. I'd take the cat in, but I'm in Brighton.
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
Hi OP
I have no idea how to contact you but I would give the cat a home, I am in Kent & could collect, have just lost my cat, a stray I took in & have taken on a couple of rescues, but I can find room for one more that really needs a home, as I feel I owe it to my last cat.0 -
As I explained before, my friend has 4 dogs, 3 of them GS - in a small 2 bed flat.
I have a GS and 4 cats, live too far away and I am away for Xmas so not an option I am afraid.0
